Thanks for sharing your side of the story. It's all semantics, but there's a fine line between "chasing" and "following". Your brother in law was"chasing" them if he was able to catch up to someone doing 100mph. I'm sorry, but I really don't buy that whole "braking" scenario either. You don't automatically lose control when you slam the brakes, even at high speeds just because it's rwd. The drive wheels are meaningless under braking. The Z lost control because he hit something, was hit by something or had the wrong reaction. If the silverado hit him in any way, that would have been enough to consider him at fault. Who's to say your brother in law didn't really ram him. We just don't really know and the evidence is going to point towards your brother in law as the aggressor

Anyway, I don't mean to pass judgement, my opinion doesn't even really matter. I'm glad your sister is okay.
