You should have gotten two functional fobs. There is no such thing as a 'dummy' fob from the factory. A new fob is going to cost you.....I have heard more

There is no such thing as a 'dummy' fob from the factory. A new fob is going to cost you.....I have heard more than $200. You can have your spare fob reprogrammed to your ignition if is doesn't work. I am not sure how much the dealership will charge for that. If you are buying a new fob, they will have to program it for you.
