Beretta Mini-Cougar .45 ... (nine shot baseball bat).

Carry it for work all the time; normally just pop it in the rear compartment box behind the pass. seat when I'm in the Z. I ripped the leather in my other car carrying it on my waist band, so I always take it off in the Z.

Give me my tupperware.
I may not carry one everyday but I will always have one in the stable.

I am with you on the Glocks, though. Big fan. My primary carry is a G26 at the moment. I need something a little bigger (probably the G19) and something a little smaller and I'll have a nice trio of carry guns.

I carry a 4.5" Springfield XDm .40 with a IWB Minotaur holster. Full size gun and still I forget I have it on. The holster makes all the difference in the world. Sits perfectly at 5 o'clock. If I am not at work it is on me... Love Florida! Glad to see all the people who carry! Occasionally I'll carry my glock 23 when I need something more concealable. But that is rare. About to pickup the new XDm 3.8 compact in .40.

dAvenue, props to you on your fantastic taste in firearms! What color?

Ditto, BeachBum! It's black/black. Like you, I am also wanting the XDM 3.8 .40. I plan on purchasing it sometime during the summer when my wife gets her CHL. I am leaning towards the two-tone silver/black. What about you?

I love the XD series. I really wanted an XD9SC but when I compared it to the Glock the Glock felt better in my hand, and I shot much better with it. Still like the XDs, though.

My GF is going to get her CHL as well so we'll be taking a look at the XDs to see if she likes them. I know she likes my G26 but I want to make sure she tries a lot of different ones out.

When you want reliability out of a 1911, you want a GI spec not a super accurate and therefore super tight, Wilson or Les Baer. They are race horses and for every day you want more of a pack horse.

Glocks are great and I do not recommend you change weapons.

Re: tupperware. Mine came in the same but now Glock gives you a lockable box.

yeah pretty much this.

I shoot XDs personally since the glock doesn't really fit my hand, but my GI spec 1911 has been flawless in operation. Not a single failure to feed.

I have a few guns (9mm, 45 revolver, 7mm rifle, 22 rifle). I love to target shoot and go hunting out west. Not that there is anything wrong with it but I have never understood why people feel the need to carry a pistol on them all the time. Seems like a good way to end up in prison imo, or if you never intend on using it then why carry it.

It's a big debate and ultimately it's personal preference. As long as you abide by the law I don't understand how you'd end up in jail. And I don't think anyone that carries "intends" on using it. It's just the ultimate last resort of personal protection, and you never know when you might end up needing it.

well while i live in an ok part of nc, the neighbor's kid is hooked on meth has made several death threats against me/my family and i've been robbed(attempted) carjacked(attempted). being an ex Marine i've had substantially more training and also have combat experience(2 combat tours over seas) so i think i can handle myself and think it is warranted. anyone in law enforcement can tell you they are only a clean up crew. i'm not saying its for everyone, just those who have had or are experiencing threats in day to day life.

i hope i never have to use it, but will not be wary to use it if need be.

I carry for the same reasons mentioned by m4a1mustang and usmcasa. CHL's have also been proven to help lower crime rates, as they act as a deterrent, in areas in which licenses are issued.

I don't know if they really act as a deterrent or not, and I don't care much to get involved in that debate. All I know is that when I carry I feel like at least I've got a fighting chance should something go down. I don't necessarily feel unsafe if don't carry, just as I don't feel safe if I do. I just feel more prepared.

I follow the rules and am a good person. I know chances are I'll never need my gun, and the one day I do will likely be the day I die, because I'll be in a Gun Free Zone.

I carry a Glock 22C. Although I don't usually have it on me, I keep it on the shelf behind the passenger seat when I am carrying it.

Yeah I understand avoiding that debate because it can get testy at times. All I'm going to say is for those who doubt, look at Chicago or Australia. Both forbid guns; and crime (mostly burglaries and muggings) is through the roof there.
