"For the 2006 model year, the 350Z received a number of notable changes for its mid-cycle facelift. The 300HP/260TQ Rev-up engine that was introduced mid-year 2005 with 6-speed manual was offered for every trim now.” “The headlights now sported larger bi-xenon projectors, the front bumper had been revised, the rear taillights now use LEDs, and interior changes brought differences to the center console” (Nissan 350Z - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) We see Nissan rolling out the ESFLOW at the Geneva auto show (Videos - Free video downloads and streaming video - CNET TV) and all the exotics showing off more fuel efficient designs with added hp and torque. This is the new direction for near future cars not just HP or handling increases. In 2011 we saw a Mustang be the first car to break 300hp and get 30 mpg! While I think a all electric or hybrid Z is too soon for next year a DI is what the doctor ordered. Heck even the new ugly duckling Nissan Juke has Direct Injection to give added performance and fuel economy. (Nissan JUKE : Direct Injection Gasoline | Cars Technology - Electric and hybrid vehicle system). If the entry level Nissan Juke can have DI you better believe Nissan can put that tech in the 2012 370Z. I sure hope this rumor has basis as I finally have the coin for a 370Z and this upgrade would definitely help me pull the trigger on a 2012 370Z. Now if the revised front and rear facia changes allow for more situational awareness and views out the rear window id be in heaven, but that’s wishful thinking and not part of facia’s ![]() |

No matter what we have, the next model usually is bigger badder and faster. I knew that the day I bought my Z. Whats more I don't care. I'm totally thrilled with it and if the next model comes out with a 500hp supercharged twin turbo enema injected motor, well so what. I got my dream Z, I gave the mods I wanted and I'm as happy as an older guy in a Z, oh wait,... I am an older guy in a Z.( 54 and I hope I die before I grow up!)

I don't understand why so many are worrried about the next Z. Some haven't even fully enjoyed what they have now. And the way the government, EPA, and gas prices are going makes you wonder what really is in store for us. Better hold on to what you got like a classic. Might not get a better car one day.
