The Nismo is coming to Canada in February 2011.....for you US guys, is it worth it for the wait and the extra $10k?
if you are gonna put all that money into modding the car, i dont see the point in starting with a nismo. i think you should go Touring/sport/nav so you get all the creature comforts and with the TT kit you'll have a beast of a car to boot.

I tried to search and read about the differences with the Nismo... slight power bump (insignificant), kit, suspension, exhaust, wheels, interior. Is there anything else I'm missing? I read somewhere it doesn't have nav or leather or heated seats?

and I may have to skip NAV if I want a 2010 black here in Canada... I originally wanted a 40th anniversary but it's all gone.

got it dead on the money.

Now factor in your mods and see what getting the nismo gets you
slight power bump -> Twin Turbo Kit
Suspension -> coilovers (i presume)
exhaust youd replace when going TT
wheels judging by the fact that you went with vokls on your GTR, you seem like an aftermarket wheel kind of guy
so your paying the premium for a spartan interior and a body kit. i love the body kit. but you seem to have a lot of experience in the aftermarket, i'm sure you could source a nismo body kit.

The body-kit is kindof shoddy I think, as well. I looked at one and wasn't impressed. I am sure there are much better made aftermarket options. The main thing the Nismo is getting you are the rims (@$5K if you purchase them separately...WOW! yes, I checked at a local dealership, buy some take-offs instead for sure!) and suspension. It's a stripped interior with only 4 speakers, and no NAV.

Almost every test I have seen shows very little improvement in any performance category with the Nismo, and many tests show it does various things worse than previously tested Touring/Sport models.

well, no one in their right mind would spend 5k on factory wheels, even if they are the highest end factory wheels. you can get a set of practically ANY wheel out there for 5k. People are getting the nismo's used for like 2k.

the body kit is entirely personal preference. I think it looks cool. i have a sport package though and i like the understated look.

I meant aside from appearance. The kit felt cheap. The fender-well liners in the rear weren't solidly attatched, it was just cheap. Looks are subjective of course, I meant regarding quality.

I agree, I simply meant that to option a Touring with the Nismo rims was not cost effective from the dealer. Even $2K is way overpriced for a factory set of rims that size imo.
