All reputable tire dealers will give you a credit on tires that wear out befor the stated mileage, IF you bought the tire from them. Just did it with Discounts/America Tire yesterday. On typical Toyoto Camry tires, Discount gave me a $53 credit on each tire (4), towards the new Bridgestone $120 tires for my Granddaughter. You can do better than Sears.
Sound deadening Material? I agree with the Frost King/Home Depot products. Really look at the reviews on the expensive stuff. Most say it helped some, not a lot. Overrated IMHO. Cheers Last edited by TexasChuck; 06-24-2015 at 05:44 PM. |

After reading this thread and others like it I decided to try something. Now, If I had expendable funds Id have everything dynamat-ed or lizard skinned. But I don not. So what I did was I took a blanket, its like one of those thin microfiber throws. I folded it and worked it to fit in the spare tire well, with a bit hanging out. I put the tire back in on top of that. I then took some mirofiber towels and folded them and stuffed them between the space between the tire and the metal separating the hatch and passenger area. I then all of the other layers back. Everything fit.
The result wast amazing, but it did knock out some of the most annoying ambient noise. And for the cost, it is a great alternative for knocking the edge off.
