Cabin noise

Get new tires. The OEM tires are INCREDIBLY LOUD. Not that I'd expect anything less from Bridgestone, but at least they grip the road. Dont weigh your car down with sound deadening materials.

If you have the sport package with the 19" wheels, you have the Bridgestone Potenza RE050A's. According to tirerack, they are in the middle of the field of "max" performance summer tires and the road noise is the same. If the noise is really a concern, switch to the Continental extreme contact DW's which are significantly better noise wise than any other performance tire.

That's the set I used to replace my stock tires. Worked wonders! I recommend it to anyone concerned about road noise.

I agree with you on that to some extent. Why buy a sports car if you want something quiet

I agree with Jessobear, the OEM tires have gotten terrible reviews regarding the noise levels. If possible, swap them out for Michelin Pilot Sports, great tire, great ride and much more quiet. You would think that Nissan would change their tires out after all the complaints regarding the Bridgestones.

Ya, 30 lbs is really going to slow down a 3000 lb + car.

I agree about the tire noise. Anyone with a suggestion on quieter tires?

Hankook V12's seem to be what a lot of folks suggest for quieter quality tires. There is a discussion over in wheel and tires, if you do a search for "quiet tires" you will see a few discussion over just this.

Im just gonna use a bed comfortor and wrap it around the spare tire. See if that improves anything.

I put Dynamat all over my hatch area (both shock pillars and the latch area all the way up to the backs of my seats). Also I put some as far up into my left fender as I could reach (the right fender is not accessible from the hatch area)

It helped, but the car is still noisy.

now I'm ordering materials to coat the inside of the doors. I will see if that helps.

the guys that make GT Mat are offering free samples (10 ft square) of there product to members. you will need more like 30 to really get after the hatch and (I'm guessing) 20 or so for the doors (some is wasted when you trim the sheets to fit your panel shapes.)

Here is a photo of my Hatch as i was just getting started putting down the mat. I spoke with my dealer service manager and he tols me how to get all the trim out. (it is easy)

There is NO sound dampening in the doors..NONE at all..cover the inside of the doors and get some good quiet tires and the car will be totally different..

Agree - I'm using Hankook Ventus V12 Evo and they are quieter than stock for sure.
