Default Cabin Noise - Now Reduced

Hello all. Just finished some 12 hours worth of sound damping (the whole rear hatch)
Purchased product from Canada (B-Quite Ultimate). I did a lot of research and this product comes so close to dynamite I had to try it. I used 43 Yards for the whole trunk so purchase the 50 Yard roll. This product is a butyl base and smelled slightly like a new tire. I have had loads of hot days and have not yet once notice any odor from the product. I did notice great noise reduction but read on. I also used the V-comp matting (2 Sheets) placed it on the entire lower back area under the spare tire, but not after the bracing and also cut a duplicate layer that covers the WHOLE rear truck (size of the rear factory trunk mat).
Also I added some B-Quite to the inner left tire wheel well . Started from the lower front of the well to 12 o’clock top. Then I covered that with Duplicolor professional under coating / sound deadener (from Advanced Auto Parts $7.49 can) used 2 1/2 cans.
Interior Sound from the Bose is simply amazing now. The bass hits clean and tight - I LOVE IT!!!
At around 35MPH to 60MPH I notice the rear tire noise still comes through but much less.
Now at 60-65MPH it is virtually gone. and I mean gone. My guess is due to the factory set camber.
Once you hit the 60mph mark the tire camber becomes more neutral and thus the noise is gone..
Any thoughts on that ???

I will have the camber brought to neutral just to test this theory.
(may require some adjustable aftermarket parts)
I understand that the Z is a sports car and will have less refined cabin sound. The point isn’t for people who enjoy that but to help those who are daily drivers and would like a quieter cabin..
I only have a 10 min ride to work, but during lunch many a times just go out and hit the bends and it is much more enjoyable now.
Thanks to all whom keep info flowing into the Z community….

Default Tire Pressure and Sound

Just wanted to do a quick update.
Cold Tire pressure was sent to 41psi rear 40 psi front. at 90 degree outdoor temp today.

I couldn't figure out why after doing all my mods was the inside cabin gaining noise.. Well it was because when it was 70 out when I did the install everything sounded great.. So I checked pressure at the local gas station (FORGOT MY GAUGE) and added some air. Well then the heat came on this week and the noise went up. Then it occurred to me my tire pressures.

Any how I took my digital tire gauge (accurate to 2 psi) and when out to check my tires.. at 65 degrees outside temp (cold tire) and the rears where 38PSI along with the fronts. I brought them back to 35 Psi cold and the cabin noise from the rear went down even more after a test ride. I could not believe how 6 psi in the rear would add so much more road hum.

ALSO from the sound deadening I did the rain swish noise was greatly reduce.
PS you will lose quite a bit of your exhaust note. (Time to get that back with and aftermarket exhaust)

- I will also have my camber reduced to maximums or as close to neutral as possible as a further test later this week.

Testing makes perfect!

Thank you. Exactly the kind of time I have been talking about. People talking 1 or 2 hours are just giving mis-information to the others here thinking about this. This is not a quick easy job. It's not hard per say, but it is tedious and long. It's also hard on your bum and your back and your fingers.

Thanks again, exactly what I've been saying. It took me 9 sheets @ 18 x36 to cover the entire hatch area. I had 1 sheet left (bought 10 sheets from FatMat), so I used the last sheet to double up on material over the front of the fender wells where most of the plinking noise is coming from.
