From what I had read, the challenge isn't fitting the engine as much as making the electronics and computer play 'nice' with a different motor. I think there was a thread on this way back when.

hmm, I wonder what would be more cost effective, GTR swap or LS3 swap? I imagine the electronics would be much easier to integrate with the VR38, but the engine itself would be much more.

Supercharged LS9 would be best of both worlds though.

and, Corvette drivers don't crash as much as was mentioned earlier. Thats why insurance on my C6 was much less than on my 350z or 370z. You never read a post on the Corvette forum from some douchebag kid about crashing in a turn in the rain with VDC off.

i was on the highway today driving like 60 somethinng in the right lane and there was this guy in a geico car who seemed to be an insurance adjuster or something. anyways, i was getting passed by people going 75-80 in shitty *** old volvos and c class mercedes and ****. i was thinking 'yea take that insurance guy! see i am driving safe, and look at these people gunning it in their safe family cars with low insurance premiums.'

its not the car, its the driver.

stupid statistics!

been there, done that, its not as fun to drive as a Z, other than in a straight line. It down right wears you out on the tail of the dragon, the steering is so heavy.

It's not about having the money and just buying a vette I love my Z and want to make it as unique a ride as possible for myself.

LSx swaps are not unique, its the most common swapped engine in to vehicles.

Want to be unique? Swap in a VK56 or a built VH45DE.

But it still makes the most since to just turbo your VQ37.

There you were, impeding traffic and making the road a dangerous place. All in front of an insurance guy. Shame on you!

He was in the right lane. No traffic impedance caused.

65 in a 55 isn't slow. its not fast, but its not slow. tops i go on a 55 mph highway is 69mph unless i'm in a rush, and then i'm always paranoid about getting pulled over so i don't really go much faster than that. i feel like cops are looking for people going 70+, they'd rather write a bigger ticket. if i go 75, i'm going 20mph above the speed limit, and i'll get there about 1 minute earlier. timing lights and stuff in local areas is how i try and make up for lost time. not getting stuck at a few 2 minute lights will save you a lot more time if you were in a rush than going a few mph faster than you would normally be driving on the hwy.

No it's usually a middle aged douche-bag - there was a recent incident up in NH where a Corvette driver ended up totaling his car and injured his passenger after showing off on a cool morning. But overall I would agree with you, percentage wise the younger folk are more likely to exceed their ability - I know I did a couple of times when I was young.
