i just noticed you have a 7AT. i'm not sure how much power the auto trans in our car is designed to take. and i assume what you'd get out of an LSX would be more than that. i think if you want a crazy retarded fast car, you should by a supra turbo or a 03/04 cobra and do a build and keep your z intact. If you just wanna GO REALLY FAST, then get a car that isn't really expensive to mod. engine swaps=expensive. engine building=expensive. turbo kits=expensive.

He would ditch the 7AT and have to mate the LS up to an LS MT trans. Probably a T56.

i'd be curious to see what top secret does for a ridiculous 370z build.

We'd never know because it's classified.

I have a buddy with an LS1 Rx7. He did all the work himself and everything fits fine. The engine bay is about the same size so I don't see why you couldn't do this with the 370z. It's just a lot of work. IMO you are probably better off getting a S/C or TT.

LSx 370Z is LAME.

You can make more power easier and cheaper with turbos.

Yes you can - but its also not as good as NA power - Ill take an NA 370z w/ 400whp over a TT 370z w/ 450 just due to its general drive-ability. Try taking a sweeping turn @ 80 while your turbos decide to kick in - makes for an interesting sight....

TT is cool - but NA is always better...

Incorrect.

Think the GTRs VR38DETT isn't good for road racing? You must not have experience with a proper turbocharged engine.

From what I had read, the challenge isn't fitting the engine as much as making the electronics and computer play 'nice' with a different motor. I think there was a thread on this way back when.

I really wonder what an LS engine feels like in a non 4000lb sedan

hmm, I wonder what would be more cost effective, GTR swap or LS3 swap? I imagine the electronics would be much easier to integrate with the VR38, but the engine itself would be much more.

Supercharged LS9 would be best of both worlds though.

and, Corvette drivers don't crash as much as was mentioned earlier. Thats why insurance on my C6 was much less than on my 350z or 370z. You never read a post on the Corvette forum from some douchebag kid about crashing in a turn in the rain with VDC off.

i think he means it in the context of a haphazard build like 'THROW A NEW ENGINE IN' or 'SLAP ON A TURBO' kind of thing. obviously a car with a stock turbo, like the GTR isn't going to have that problem. a properly tuned system shouldn't have it either, but i could see it being more likely in an aftermarket build.

It's cheaper to twin turbo a 370Z. A twin turbo VQ37 has a very similar powerband as a VR38DETT.

i was on the highway today driving like 60 somethinng in the right lane and there was this guy in a geico car who seemed to be an insurance adjuster or something. anyways, i was getting passed by people going 75-80 in shitty *** old volvos and c class mercedes and ****. i was thinking 'yea take that insurance guy! see i am driving safe, and look at these people gunning it in their safe family cars with low insurance premiums.'

its not the car, its the driver.

stupid statistics!
