what's the motivation for dealers to learn the product they're selling? i have bought quite a few cars in the past like 5 years and i have gone on many

what's the motivation for dealers to learn the product they're selling? i have bought quite a few cars in the past like 5 years and i have gone on many many test drives for fun and met tens of sales person, i only met ONE single sales person who knew about cars! that person works for Irvine Subaru. he knew ins and outs of the car he was selling, he knew a lot about 350z (he owns a modded one), about the Evo (in details), my own car, and a whole bunch of other cars that i told him i was interested in!
