The battery icon on the head unit displays the battery life on your phone. I don't have nav either, just the touring package and the display is pretty accurate. Maybe it depends on what phone you have.

In both my Z and my Sequoia it shows the battery lower than it is. iPhone 4. It doesn't bug me any.

I suspect this has to do with the fact that the iPhone (along with any apple product) was designed to be skipped across a pond and never intended for human use.

Here's the answer to your question, OP.

If you pressed down the gas cap while the car was locked, it will remember that it was pushed down. If you then unlock the car, the gas cap will pop open. When you close your gas cap down next time, push it a bit softer and it should not pop open when you next unlock the car.

The battery icon is actually for your phone, but it's terribly inaccurate.

Is anyone familiar with the SCRL button in the 2009 z? The owners manual labels it as the "Scroll" button and then doesnt seem to mention anywhere in the manual. I'm trying to figure out what it actually does or what it's used for. I have the "FM-AM-SAT RADIO WITH COMPACT DISC (CD) CHANGER (models without navigation system)." I was hoping to configure the SAT radio to scroll the different displays (i.e channel name, artist etc..) without having to push the DISP button for each one.

I've wondered what the SCRL button was for as well.

SCRL button: When a title is displayed but it is a long one, the whole title is not shown in the display. In this case, push the button to scroll the title. When the title is scrolled to the end of it, the display will stop moving and return to the first condition.

Hope that helps!

LOL...you are right...unlocking the doors unlocks the fuel door...sounds like he had a defect with it opening itself.

The bar indicator for the phone is bluetooth signal strength and not phone battery level at least in my car....

/\ I have both..a battery indicator AND a signal indicator. I do believe that the battery indicator is inaccurate as well.

Occured today for me. Tried opening the gas lid no luck, pressed the smaller button under the rear tag and the gas lid popped open. Pretty neat.
