Nope - you must press the button on the outside of the car below the center of the hatch. There's no way to open the hatch from the inside of the car.

I haven't checked the 370 for this but the 350 had an emergency rear hatch release somewhere in the trunk area. Can't remember exactly where though and I don't know if the 370 has it.

You guys are kidding, right? From page 3-18 of the owner's manual:

SECONDARY REAR HATCH RELEASE
The secondary rear hatch release mechanism
allows opening the rear hatch in the event of
discharged battery or emergency.
The release handle is located under the cargo
room floor. To open the rear hatch from the
passenger compartment, perform the following
procedure.
1. Remove the cargo floor mat.
2. Find the rear hatch release handle *1 as
shown in the illustration.
3. Free the release handle that is fixed with
velcro.
4. Firmly pull the release handle until the rear
hatch releases.

Is this really easy and convenient to do? I've not tried it, but my complaint was that there wasn't an easy button to press in the c0ckpit to pop the trunk. This seems more like "Your battery died" than user convenience. It's nice to know it's there, but still not very useful.
