my kid goes to private school on sat so i'd like to just drop him off at school and continue on with motoring my Z in the earlier am hrs :p ...instead of coming home and grabbing my Z and get stuck in traffic. :ugh2:

You need a drop Econ. Id get some Swifts, which are backordered for prob a month or so unfortunatly. Then get your bbk. The base calipers are disgusting, I agree. If your not tracking the car it should be great w just the Swifts. PLUS..the majority of Swift owners get their car back to stock alignment settings. You should almost def get away w/o a camber kit. Maybe you could even find somebody selling their Akebonos on here.

kenchan 06-29-2011 04:56 PM

^^^ Cool, no camber kit needed on the swifts, huh? (No I'm not getting one)

Like I said MOST get away w/o a kit. Some do need it but it seems pretty rare. A lot of people are getting back to stock on here. Im installin mine next weekend. Ill drive for about 500 miles then align. Im banking on getting back to stock. Ill be upset if I need a kit.

That sucks! But hey if you knew they were illegal.... :D

Tried the recaro kids booster in the Z. It will fit if i take the z's headrest off but wont fit as is... and looks pretty dumb so I guess he wont be riding my Z for a while. :icon17::rofl2:

Now I need to decide do I remove all the tint or just the front windows?

I was wondering about the need for camber kit or not with the Swift springs. I think the drop looks perfect with them. Enough to get rid of the gap, yet not so wild you scrape every underside bit.

Hmm, what does the law dictate in Cali? I would be inclined to only remove the fronts.

Like I said most people are gettng away w/o one. I believe Nismo owners are more likely to need a kit.

Dont feel bad Happy. Mine is my DD also. I have learned to let perfection go :( I do try to keep her clean as possible, but she is def got her fair share of imperfections at this point. Wish I got that clear bra when I got it. Oh well, as long as she runs good Im happy.

FromG2Z 06-30-2011 08:24 AM

am seriously on the fence on the clear bra for the hood (1/3) and fenders right now. I think i might go ahead and do it. The edges will be barely visible on pearl white. Plus all it takes is ONE chip, one rock, and it's over. My worry about the edge being visible as it gets dirty might be unfounded because I never drive my car in adverse weather, and she gets detailed all the time..... What you guys think? go for it?

Econ 06-30-2011 08:27 AM

hmmm....should i order a front lip today, or some lowering springs?

I am in the SAME boat man..been thinking about it for weeks and haven't pulled the trigger. Main thing holding me back is I think I want to get an aftermarket front.

FromG2Z 06-30-2011 08:32 AM

So I pretty much will have the following clearbra'd when I am done with all of this

bumper - DONE
hood (1/3)
front fenders (1/3)
a-pillars - DONE
lower skirts - DONE
mirrors- DONE
door handles
rear valence 3M CF- DONE
front bumper trim 3M CF
b-pillars 3M CF
kick plates 3M CF (ala opposite of what Kenchan did - black plastic in 3M, and leave brushed aluminum exposed)

what you guys think?

I'm running swifts with no camber kits. Rear is a tad more than ideal, but no camber wear at all. I can post a pic after work.

i still recommend you do the full hood and fenders, not just the fronts. this way you wont see the offending line and you wont have to worry about fitment cause the installer can wrap and tuck it into the seams.

i also recommend you do the rocker panel as well. ever since using spacers on stock 19's and my current Weds i have quite a bit of hit forward of the quarter-panel arch near the bottom. im using a long strip of Xpel down there and it's been great. will replace in a year or so and re apply. :p

kenchan 06-30-2011 10:13 AM

this am i was treated by a white 370Z driving in front of me to work. :p completely stock but still looked awesome.

im going to see if my local stores have the backless booster seats for my kid later on tonight. my wife's going to take my older kid to school on Sat she said so that I can play with my Z, but i dont want to ask her every weekend... she's not a real good morning person. :D hahaha.

lazywolfe 06-30-2011 10:34 AM

Just got it washed/waxed at work.

Drop it Econ!! Like I stated before Swifts are on backorder everywhere. If you order now you may not get till the end of July or so. If you go H&R the drop will prob require a kit since the drop is more severe than the Swifts. Like I said previously, most people are getting their Swifts back to OEM settings.

Econ 06-30-2011 11:47 AM

ordered a set of swifts....

they will be here in 4 days.....

i know people :stirthepot:
