FromG2Z- i agree, i may just use my SprayOn CarWash (waterless wash) or just wait until the weekend and wash it. temps are still kinda low here.
here's my detailing stuff... old pict from like 2008? :D i have both a 6" and 3" random orbital. :) http://www.the370z.com/members/kench...ts-buckets.jpg |

VERY COOL kenchan. Nice to see I'm not the only anal/extremely obsessed detailing fanatic. Used to own/run my own detailing business few years ago. Kid came along, had to abandon it... just no more time. Yeah, I have a Flex 3401 and a PC too... looking to get the 3" Griots this summer. I have wayyyyyyyyy too many products (lsps, polishes, towels, clays, everything else under the sun). Getting really into Chemical Guys and Dodo Juice stuff lately. I think I spent close to 4k in total over the years in car products.... :O terrible I know.
|
thanks FromG2Z. i use to spend A LOT of time detailing but i too have only limited time so only do full details once a year and just maintain it by not getting the car too dirty (driving in caked up salt road, mud, etc). lol :D im also a trained PDR tech so i fix my own dings using dedicated tools. :p
a little salt i dont mind, but i cant stand the caked on salt and crap that gets in the nooks and pretty much permanently discolor the bits. :D |

I use their ORANGE pads for polishing and RED pads for glaze, sealants, and wax. :) i mark the pads so that i use the same polish each time. they have free shipping until 7/4 so i placed my order too for the small bottle One-Step-Sealant and a few 6" orange pads. :p |
ahhh its finally sun season, so its time for the z's first detail. my friend used to do it with her army of orbitals, but i figured its time to get my own and im loving the 6" RO with that awesome handle. just deciding on what pads i need (not a total noob to detailing mind you, just used to have the pleasure of having a friend do it hehehe)

haha, yah, polishing is a test of patience. :D

I'm just praying my car doesn't get damaged. We are under a tornado watch until 1pm. There has already been report of a tornado yesterday and today and hail confirmed...lucky, the worst of the storms have dodged me so far...but it looks like the strongest storm is about to hit in like 10 minutes. You should see outside my office...there's a greenish haze. That's NEVER good! |
Tornado warning just issued for us until 1130...uh oh :(

1k miles in a 16 months? damn. I'm at like 80 miles driven in about a month of having my Z and I'm already going crazy!??! :eekdance:
|
washed her then pulled her back in the garage cause it started to rain. Machine Waxed the hood, roof, and hatch. Will be finishing later.
|
i only had a few seconds to look at my Z this am before leaving for work. but it was a nice experience... you know, need to remind ourselves why the f- you're working so hard sometimes other than for just being a dad and some mean dood at work. :D

Oh man, keep your baby sheltered!! |
Stared at it longingly from my window -- torrential thundersorms here. Not really a great driving day...
|
Stared at her showless body sitting on pegs. But on a happy note, I got some parts in for her so I got to drool over that. She will be getting some new plumbing very shortly.

I highly like the last 2 posts

Had the 370 out for the second time....smile getting bigger with every ride. Suppose to be sunny but cool (8C) this weekend, might even get the top down!
Oh, and really noticed that it turns a few heads too! Gord |
drove it to last minute meet in north chicago burbs.. SC is running like a champ.. damn its fun.
btw I saw 2 other 370's last night, one on the Kennedy expy around 7:30pm, looked like a 40th anniv.. and another around the kennedy/edens split around 11:30 pm.. Would it kill you guys to fuking look over and give a wave? wtf.... |
i havent seem my Z yet... took the dd (Fit) to work...
man this pink background is painful for my eyes. :D |
Don't have a Fit over the background kenchan LOL I kill me. Never say never. OK sorry. I couldn't help myself. I made a template for my SS rear wing. I might drill my holes in my trunk to mount it today. Just don't want to end up an April fool and destroy my trunk.:wtf2:
|
woooo, trunk drilling sounds like fun. :D use a small bit as a guide for your larger bit (or a step bit). gl with that. make sure you snap some picts.
|
I closed a deal for some new S-tune wheels
|
Test mounted my rear wing. Not an April Fool today. Only 4 holes and looks good. Unable to get pics, my helper (father) had other things to do this afternoon so we had to get it done quickly. I now have to get my wing painted then perm. mount it. I had a step drill for the interior holes, thank God. Very easy install even without instructions. Did find mounting tabs in the bag. I will take pics when done.:ughdance: Oh and my car cover fits over the wing also. Where did my signature go with all my mods????
|
Ordered my Precision 6262, ACT 6-puck, and Fidanza flywheel :driving:
