Drove it into work, now staring out the window at it. Thankful that its the weekend and I get to head out driving around.

kenchan 03-11-2011 11:03 AM

i moved my Z's new wheels out of the way to get my G off of her Flatstoppers and out of the garage... yaay, first time in 2011 i drove the G to work. :)

will be installing the new wheels on the Z tomorrow and first drive of 2011 scheduled for Sunday. :p

TheGreatOne 03-11-2011 01:40 PM

Installed V-LEDs to the rear licence plate area.

Counting down till next week when I can finally drive her (after March 15th) but it will be here and there until spring is in Full Force. Snow keeps falling and pissing me off.

kenchan 03-12-2011 06:20 PM

Went on an awesome cruise with the mid-A gang through some fun twisty roads. Then I ran 12's at the drag strip. Today was all about driving my Z, and I drove it 200+ miles today all together.

TheGreatOne 03-12-2011 06:40 PM

I drove my Z illegally today lol. :driving:

Have to wait till the 15th because of the winter tire law. Roads were clear of snow today so I said "F" it and risked the $380 ticket lol. Heck i've only driven it home from the dealer.

Went to get gas, took it around the block, kept an eye out for the fuzz.

I have to say, not that I needed reassurance but the looks, thumbs up and the grin it gave me when I accelerated and the back got loose, solidified that I made a great decision getting this car

I do have to say, there was quite a bit of gravel, and OMG, I heard every bit of it hitting the undercarriage...that road noise thing wasn't an exaggerated

SPOHN 03-12-2011 06:55 PM

Went and bought a small sheet of metal and velcro for my oil cooler to fabricate a block off plate. Course the weather is starting to warm quickly. Might not need it, but it will be done.

chops 03-12-2011 07:55 PM

finally drove it today! now its back in the garage til next week as the forecast calls for rain all week :(

kenchan 03-13-2011 12:01 PM

Lou @ amplified Motorsports lowered the Z on some H&Rs and threw some 15mm spacers on all 4 corners.

1slow370 03-13-2011 07:47 PM

i tore my car the hell apart today

Fire 03-14-2011 07:16 AM

Actually was yesterday and Sat. I recieved my Eibach pro alignment kit Friday and sent my car to the shop. Previously I had Eibach springs, stillen sways and H&R 20mm spacer installed. Ofcourse they said that they could not get the alignment within specs. So Sat. I jump started my 2003 Mitsu Eclipse backed it out of the garage then jump started the Z and took it down to the shop. Sun. they called and said the the rear camber arms didn't fit. They had the toe bolts in but removed the wrong arm, easy fix and they went on to get it aligned. As set within factory specs now. Drove like a champ, just couldn't jump on it too hard with a slight amount of snow and ofcourse the top stayed up.

kenchan 03-14-2011 04:37 PM

spooln- looks great!

for me i only looked at my Z this am before pulling out my G to go to work.

going to be lowering the psi later this week for both cars as the temps are starting to steadily climb. :D

CrownR426 03-14-2011 04:45 PM

^Yes +1 on lowering psi weather's getting better here this week as well!

It was nice meeting you, and the car looks very sexy dropped

Mt Tam I am 03-14-2011 10:01 PM

Had an unbelievably long run without interference. This is such a great car design. Actually got the oil temp up to 220. First time I've seen it that high since I put in the oil cooler. Still works for me though.

Painted the strut tower brace. It just got lost in the dark engine bay flat black. I think it looks better silver.

Made up a oil cooler block off plate.

EazyD 03-15-2011 09:19 AM

I'm in the waiting room at the dealer right now getting my first oil change at 2600 miles. Nervoussss.. I think they are putting in conventional. Is that ok? Maybe I'll do mobil1 next time?

I know it's your first time so just breathe... it's going to be ok. they are probably (should be) using the Nissan Ester Oil. Do a forum search on oil and you will find more debates that you have time to read before you next change. :)

kenchan 03-15-2011 11:54 AM

i havent seen my Z yet today...

last night i moved the stock wheels into my storage area. :) good excersise... im outta shape... need to move my detailing cart and gear into my garage soon. :)

Thanks for the reply. I've read enough of the debates to know that nobody knows what they're talking about  They put in conventional oil and the parts + labor cost me $42 or so. Coworker suggested not going to synthetic until after 5k miles.

wheee! 03-15-2011 01:54 PM

Nice! post that up to the social group too!

Nice. Looks a lot better than I would have thought.

SPOHN 03-15-2011 02:30 PM

Went and bought rat poison. That's right. My dad and I park are cars in the same garage and with both found droppings and acorns on top of the motor. Didn't find any damage at all. But I will kill those bastards.

yah, better take care of it soon before they make a nest and start chewing away. :icon14:

Didn't the dealer give you a couple of free oil changes when you bought the car? I am assuming that you bought it new.

SPOHN 03-16-2011 08:34 PM

Finally drilled holes in my rear panel for adjustment to my rear coilovers. Also checked oil level and air pressure.

SVTNate 03-17-2011 04:03 AM

When I can remember (tomorrow I hope), I'm dropping off the strut tower bar to get paint matched (pearl white). I was going to do the Stillen airboxes too, but they're at the front of the engine bay and tend to get dirty faster. I'd rather not fight to keep them looking white, whereas just doing the strut bar will add a bit of color and be easy to keep clean.

Might do the engine covers too, at least with an accent of pearl white. We'll see.

SPOHN 03-17-2011 05:35 AM

Going on a cruise today.

Econ 03-17-2011 08:21 AM

painted my nissan hamburgers black....

also flipping a coin to decide whether or not to put deposit down on amuse rear bumper...it would be my first "real" mod

Highway 03-17-2011 08:31 AM

I plan on putting the top down for the first time today. It's supposed to be around 70. :)

98intrigue 03-17-2011 09:41 AM
