I was thinking Bilstien coilovers for a while but I did not want to spend that much so it is Swifts now and Koni dampers when the stock units wear out. Hopefully, Koni will be making them by that time.

Well last night I decided to Plasti Dip my fangs to see how I like it. I asked for it to be PS'd but no luck in the PS thread. I snapped these pics like 30min at Starbucks. What do you guys think? Should I make it permanent or take it off?

Mr OnZedge, Thanks for the 411. Good info. Either GTM or Z1 or...the new water cooled....the jury is still out on that one. Def will stop by to check out the driveway ramp...funny when someone first said "curb" ramp, I though how odd doing oil changes on a curb ramp. In this part of the country it is called the driveway...which is a lower curb than the rest of the street curb as it was put....haha..Got me for a second.

Have good weekend Mr Onzedge!

onzedge 10-29-2011 08:11 AM

Footloose -- I like the black fangs look, myself. Take some more pics in brighter sunlight -- it will show the contrast more.

Be safe on your road excursion today and let me know when you want to swing by.

Footloose, I like it.

Footloose301 10-29-2011 09:24 AM

Heres one with a little bit more light. Also, I did tman1985's last night but his is satin black with clear and mine is plasti dip. Unfortunately the Florida weather isn't great for pics today.

Pretty sure I heard people saying Koni has no plans for us.

Both look great. I love black fangs. My car is in the body shop now gettn a new hood and bumper thanks to a deer. First thing Im doin when I get her back next week is re-plasti dipping my fangs:tup: I also asked for my old bumper back, which really has no damage. IDK why they are replacing it. Im gonna play around with making some air vents for my Stillen G3s

Footloose301 10-29-2011 09:53 AM

How well does the plasti dip hold up? Is there really any reason for me to tear it off and actually paint it?

Had mine on for months and it holds up VERY well!!! No chips or scrapes of any kind. No need to paint unless you dont like the textured finish of the Plasti Dip. I like the fact that you can remove it whenever you want:tup:

I spoke with Koni reps several times last year, and again about a month before I sold the car. They've got nothing in the pipeline for the Z.

Yeah I was not terribly happy about it either. I guess when the car is moving 10k units a year and the rest of the aftermarket isn't exactly booming, it doesn't make good business sense though.

kenchan 10-29-2011 11:56 AM

footloose- you're on a roll! looks good, i like the contrast.

yah, i wish koni would make dampers for us... oh well. looks like i'll be just running stock for a while then.

I think they both look great.

Honestly, if you aren't going the CF cover route, Plast-dip makes the most sense to "paint" something that low on the front of the car - chip resistent.

SPOHN 10-29-2011 03:14 PM

Gave my babe a wash. Then I decided to remove all the rear panels. Oh I going hard core now.

You crazy...

I haven't washed mine in over a month. It's FILTHY. I also haven't taken it over 3k rpms in over 2 weeks. Two months away can't come any sooner...

Chrono_30 10-29-2011 03:36 PM

I drove her for the first time in 6 months!! :happydance: Being deployed sucks, but coming back and being able to upgrade my baby makes it all that much better!!!

Wow! With all that added HP, I figured you'd be on it all the time! :)

kenchan 10-29-2011 09:17 PM

Looks like rain tomorrow. Might still pull her out for a drive. :p.

Thank you for serving our country. If it were up to me, all people in service would get a free Z when they come home.

LunaZ 10-30-2011 12:26 PM

Missed it. I've been in Dallas all week.
Glad I washed and covered her before I flew out. Hope we get some clean, dry roads this week. My driving season is winding down fast!!!

Waiz 10-30-2011 03:17 PM

I had a busy day yesterday!

I drove 60 miles to a Mazda meet:

http://www.the370z.com/other-vehicle...nt-photos.html

Then I drove the 60 miles back home and got inspired from all the nice cars at the meet so I washed the Z.

happytheman 10-30-2011 04:17 PM

Tested out a free GPS iPhone app on the way home called Waze. It worked really well and you just can't beat the price. It's interesting in that it has a social aspect to it. If your average speed drops below a certain range, it asks you if there's an accident or some other element causing the congestion. This input automatically notifies all other Waze users in the area of the issue. There is also input for intersection cameras and speed traps where police are hiding out.

Since we are on the topic of washing cars, what can I use to strip the wax off? I want to get a fresh start and figured I could strip the wax off, clay it, and then rewax the car. Any thoughts or suggestions?
