Installed my simota1 fuel gauge overlay:

Came up with a solution to the problem of high winds lifting my cover off of the car:

I found these big-a** magnets at Harbor Freight for about $3 each. They have a 95 lb. pull rating, so they should be strong enough to prevent the cover from lifting off of the car in windy conditions.
The magnets were bare metal when I purchased them. I coated them with Plasti Dip rubberized paint to add grip and make sure there wouldn't be any rough edges left exposed to wear a hole in the cover.

The weather broke for a bit here. Snow is all but gone. Took the z out for a ride.
She got dirty but it was worth it.
Put her back in the garage all clean and with a full tank of 93. Just waiting for another chance to get my fill before spring.

doubleG370Z 12-31-2010 04:47 PM

after short drive in the sunshine, decided to give it a wash :)

Vegitto-kun 01-02-2011 08:47 AM

After not driving her for about a month and half because of the snow I finally decided to pick her up at my work. gave her a wash and finally took her back home.

I installed the remote gain control for my subwoofer amp. I had not planned to use it, since the Pioneer HU has a sub out level adjust. However, I found myself fiddling with the sub out level too often, and it is deep enough in the menu system to be a driving distraction. One more console switch blank filler put to use. Beautiful weather here in Dallas, chilly but cloudless blue skies.

I turned the tires on both my Z and G today. I turn them 1/3 turn by hand every 4wks while on flatstoppers. :)

Mt Tam --- looks very much like Muir Woods and a great amount of fun. Nice technique as well.

Hmm -- Snow??? We just returned from Northern/Westerrn Minnesota and had blizzards, freezing rain, icy roads and below zero temps. See below for a shot out of the windshield on our way down route 78 toward I-94 on New Year's Eve (hoping to make the 190 miles to the airport). They closed the road right behind us. I did not see a single Z the entire week (duh).

Good eye and Thank you.

My gal and I went to Safeway yesterday. I went to get the car in the rain and pick her up at the front door. Some guy in a silver 350Z comes by and checks out my car, then drives off. When I get to the front door my lady saw the 350 and thought I had left her. So just as she starts to run after it, a silver 370 drives past her, so she waits for it to stop. It doesn't. Before she can figure it out I showed up. She too had not seen another Z car for weeks when all of a sudden....

SPOHN 01-06-2011 05:47 PM

I just removed the dealer advertisment sticker (they wouldn't sponser me) and debadged the rear 370Z emblem. Super clean now.

Nismoracer 01-06-2011 11:19 PM

Drove around in cold weather realizing it makes more noises when cold.

stacy001 01-07-2011 01:51 PM

Happy News Year!!!, today I'm crusing up and down the Vegas Strip..

CrownR426 01-07-2011 02:08 PM

Shoveled my house and neighbors house...
Shoveled my sister's G35 and my 370z...
Now I will look at my Z until I can take it to my secret area for some snow drifting.
XD

ClemsonWill 01-07-2011 02:28 PM

I drove my Z to work today. Right now it's parked in the very back of the parking lot with no other cars within 100 feet.

turbodog 01-07-2011 02:34 PM

I spurned my Z today in favor of riding the bike to work. Gorgeous day in DFW! Crappy weather next week, so the Z's gonna get dirty.....

I was there over Thanksgiving, and I gotta say you are brave for risking your car in that madhouse! Away from the strip is fine, I imagine. But, it took 15 minutes in a cab to get from Ceasar's to the Venetian (cab due to mother-in-law health issue... I would have walked otherwise).... like 200 yards! Crazy, crazy I say!

wheee! 01-07-2011 02:44 PM

Drove around the block in 5 degrees below zero weather just to exercise the oil and tires a bit. Back into the safety of the garage again!

Weather is turning bad tonight and we are expecting about 5 inches of snow and -30 degrees celsius for about the next two weeks... :shakes head:

chops 01-07-2011 02:54 PM

Wow... I ALWAYS back into stalls! Learned my lesson many years ago that replacing a fender is cheaper than a quarter panel!

LunaZ 01-07-2011 04:13 PM

Well, my idea of using magnets to keep my car cover from flapping and lifting in the wind was a failure.
So I got some car cover bungie clamps from Griot's Garage and installed them today.

Pretty clever design. I hope they work!

Cmike2780 01-07-2011 04:18 PM

I got to drive my Z a total of once in the past 2 weeks. Had to tuck her in under a car cover because of the snow.

sigh.....

i already drive the most riced out car at my office, backing in would just be icing on the cake. i used to just park far, but the rest of my org just moved into the building next door, completely filling the parking lot. nowadays i just inch out of the parking spot super slow since everyone drives so damn fast!
