Well something interesting happened this morning that immediately made me think of this thread. I was getting ready to go to the gym. My fob was in the pocket of my jacket -- and there were no other items in that pocket. Suddenly the car alarm starts going off! Now, my car is in the garage, not on the street. So I grab the fob and hit the unlock button which stops the alarm. But I take a peek in the garage just to make sure there isn't someone in there.

I'm thinking that the only way this could have happened is that the panic button somehow got depressed while the fob was in my pocket. As I said, I had no other items in that pocket, so my guess is that somehow, one of the keys on the ring pressed against the panic button and set off the alarm.

Maybe that's why they make this fob cover. I always thought it was just a pretty accessory. But now I'm thinking that it's functional too!

It looks like the top that covers the buttons is hard so that it doesn't get pressed easily. I want I want

I have spoke to Nissan USA about this issue and they confirmed me that One must press the unlock buttom for few seconds in order to windows go down. All 370Z models are equipped with this feature.

So, Minicobra, you must have pressed the button somehow. Ask one of our sponsors if they carry the key cover. It looks decent and it'll solve your problem.

^^ I could let that hang from my lanyard along with my access card. Maybe even my khakis. Nice! I'm going to have my stealership throw that into the mix as well.

I don't think they're available in the US dealerships yet. That fob cover is from a JDM accessories collection. Here's a link to the thread:

The JDM 370z Collection

If you read through the thread, you'll see I found a site where you can order it from Japan. It's not cheap tho.

Lots of owners of MY07 350z's reported their alarms going off for no reason. Hope this isn't going to be a trend with early 370z's too.

Same thing happened to me OP, the second day I had the car. Of course, it happened to me while it was raining...
