Doubtful. Unless the car is a completely new design (and it's too soon for that), the addition of an oil cooler from the factory will be seen as a tacit admission that one is needed, which will have ramifications for prior-year models. And Nissan isn't about to admit that the 09 and 10 models ought to have come from the factory with oil coolers installed.

Awesome logic and even better explanation. I've been thinking that for awhile, just never could explain it that well.

Speaking of C&D, the June issue will have an update of the Nismo track incident. Apparently they finally admit it was not brake "failure". Seems the pads were worn down to the plates and they boiled the brake fluid. Question remains, were the pads worn when they received the car? If so, this highly publicized incident was very damaging to the brand and Nissan should sue their asses if this was the case.

Did you quote the wrong magazine, or page? I see nothing here about an update or admitting anything.

It's actually on page 19, in response to a reader's letter in the Backfires section.

Someone needs to tell C&D what the word 'confluence' means. How can something be the confluence of a single action? You have to have two things flow together for it to become a confluence. Maybe they meant to say it was a confluence of worn brake pads and... loafer wearing journalist? Khaki wearing journalist?

For street drivers that work the car hard I would recommend ATE Super Blue/Gold as it can handle a moderate amount of moisture that accumulates in the system over the course of a year. Good for Auto-x and occasional HPDE.

For track junkies Motul RBF 600.

For race cars Motul RBF 660 or Endless RF-650.

I also hope Nissan can fire back with more HP and TQ soon. The 2011 Mustang sounds really good on paper. I can't wait to check out a full review, but it sounds like it has surpassed the 370Z, we'll have to wait and see.
