I know, it's only a quarter of the way through 2010 but I'm just curious.

That is funny. I was ABOUT to make this thread as well.

2011 Ford Mustang GT vs 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS vs 2010 Dodge Challenger SRT8 Comparison - Motor Trend

After reading this, I really hope Nissan brings its A-game to the table. The Ford Mustang basically has beaten the Camaro and the Challenger at their own game by successfully winning the acceleration, lateral acceleration (0.97 G I think), braking, etc...

Nissan, make the 2011 370Z even better please!

I never listen to Motor Trend, I think they suck, but if it's true the Mustang beat, it is quite a statement from a live rear axle.

i'd like to see nissan pull out DI... with 10% more power and 10% more fuel efficiency... it'd be like walking up to the mustang and flopping out a massive wang...

It would be awesome but it's very doubtful. If all they do is add an orange color to the available lineup and that's it - I'd be a very happy man.

i'm curious if they'll have engine upgrades every few years like the 350 did. Willing to bet they probably wont just so they wont have something to compete with the Nismo sales.

It would be nice if they bumped up the HP/TQ to the Nismo ratings for 2011. FTW!

Not enough, IMHO. They need to bump up to probably around at least 370 hp to stay competative in acceleration. It wins hands down in all other catagories already so to me, the obvious choice is a power bump. Seems as if the block is already very robust so this shouldn't be outragously expensive to do.

I agree with the power bump. At least 370 would be nice and it would be a nice play on its name as well.

Somehow I don't see the car's weight being reduced anytime soon. But if they were to shortened the height of the 370Z and stiffen the suspension as well as the horsepower bump, then all of these factors will be sufficient enough to at least compete or beat the American pony cars.

Although I know Nissan will never do this, I would hope for the 370Z's width to be increased a little. I love wide, short, and stocky stance but a man can dream right?

stiffen the suspention to compete? The Z already easily outperforms the others in handling. In this price range not much can approach the Z on handling, you have to move up the food chain quite a bit to do that.

I am sure Nissan will throw out more HP and torque for the 2011, will the Nismo make the 2011 cut though? Also, for Nissan it is not 100% about track times it seems, they will use little things to sell it as a new model sort of like 2010.

After the Car & Driver debacle with the brake failure, I hope Nissan takes care of that public-relations disaster.

Speaking of C&D, the June issue will have an update of the Nismo track incident. Apparently they finally admit it was not brake "failure". Seems the pads were worn down to the plates and they boiled the brake fluid. Question remains, were the pads worn when they received the car? If so, this highly publicized incident was very damaging to the brand and Nissan should sue their asses if this was the case.

Seriously? What's your source?

If this is true C&D has some serious questions to answer:

1. Why would they or their driver get behind the wheel WITHOUT checking the pads first???

2. Why didn't they check them right after the crash?

You would think they would have pulled off the fracking wheels and checked the pads immediately after the crash and, if they found worn pads, they should have STFU...?
