Great news about the bumper! My state requires that you have a front license plate as well, so the day I went to pickup the car I told the dealer I wouldn't purchase it if they drilled into the bumper. They just handed me the bracket and front plate =)

Congratz! This sounds like the first time that Nissan has really gone the extra mile to satisfy their customers... too bad we can't get them to address some other minor concerns.

They will not do anything for you unless you complain, complain and complain about the problem you are having. Again, if you have any issues/concerns contact them using the email address that I provided or the Discussion Board in Facebook (Nissan North America).

I bought my car brand new in Ohio (which requires a front plate) and my front plate bracket was in the trunk when I took delivery. There weren't any holes drilled, either. However, since the holes are in the black part of the bumper, couldn't you just plug them with black plugs or something? They really shouldn't be that noticeable.
That being said, I'm not planning to put the front plate on my Z. I'll take the ticket, thank you very much. |

If the holes were in the black part I wouldn't go thru all this when they can be plugged. ![]()

I'm in California and the dealer never mentioned anything about the front plate mount. I found the hardware in the trunk in a plastic bag. I've opted not to mount it until a cop tells me too. In the meantime I ordered the Stillen mount because I am not going to drill holes in the front of my brand new car.

I would not put the front plate, but I work in a military base and the guards give me $hit if I don't have one. So finally I ordered mine from Stillen. Looks way better than having those two holes on the front bumper.

Definitely follow the instructions and use LocTite. Otherwise if you remove the mount and then out it back on, the plate will rotate and be crooked. Which, of course, looks lame. The only issue I have with the Stillen mount is that it puts the plate in front of the oil cooler. It really isn't a problem though under normal highway conditions and you're not going to be sporting a front plate on the track. So I guess I don't have an issue. Just thinking out loud apparently. Anyway... LocTite.
