So many funny moments in this post, but the quote above gets it all. I need to tell Vipor he has added carbon fiber pieces, he will love it.
I can understand a BMW driver and his perspective on things, they do drop about 10k more on a similar power/performance/handling vehicle and you do get a few more "upgrades." The issue I had with these upgrades is, not needed in a sports car, useless weight, and even BMW uses some low quality materials. Maybe a step up above Nissan, but still pretty "meh" from the few cars I drove when test driving.

Also love the "drilled rotors" comment, great eye.

Just got to let it go. They have their opinions and we have ours.

I do find the "passion" comment funny, though. Like a 3-Series sedan was ever built with more "passion" than any other mass produced sedan out there. Please!

I think many members here (nonTT) could take him for a test drive and show him how a car is.
I am sure there are plenty of BMW drivers who push their car, but when I see some of them try it is nothing I do on a daily rate.
But to each their own, I love my car, I would love a BMW if they made something I wanted.

I can see this thread being long and not accomplishing much, but hey thats what makes it fun. We are ricers and the BMW guys are snobs, so there we have it.

Maybe so, but this is the car which saved the world for stylish relatively inexpensive sports cars. The 370Z can be traced seamlessly back to the 240Z (known as the Fairlady outside the US). You're kidding right? You might want to take a look at what some of the most popular road coursing cars are, right now...Miatas and E30's may as well own the track.

Hate to be the devils advocate, but while I agree the guy is a bit pompous and misinformed...who here seriously thinks the performance-oriented 3-series' aren't fun?

Having spent a ton of seat time in everything from E21's to E92's, the fun to drive 3 series died with the E46...which is a shame.

335's are amazingly capable cars, but they aren't fun to drive IMO.

Hmmm your right I should rephrase.. My comment is not reguarding the older bmws just the newer 325/328 vehicles.. The 335 is nice which I have driven but still not as fun as the z. It's just too refined but it's a completely diff car. Not to meantion they are ticking time bombs when modified.. Chip it launch it a few times and you'll have yourself a nice broken
axle.
