I've had the same sentiment about my 370Z repeated to me nearly every time a person sees it for the first time:

CLASSY.

I did have a real estate agent, when we drove it to Laughlin a few months back, ask me what kind of car it was. I told him it was a Nissan and he looked a little surprised at first and then said, "That is a very "rich looking" car" (whatever that means..lol) I just smiled and thanked him.

Z=class. 240-370.

He just posted this LOL

"Japanese peak horsepower numbers are really misleading, or German horsepower is really understated. 2xx hp boxsters pull with 3xx hp nissans. I don't know if they have inefficient drivetrains or what, but I've never been impressed. My 325i was competitive against 350z on the track, even on straightaways. "

Broad powerbands are a big part of it, but again...

Best part is 95% of BMW drivers I've met (and I've been active on forums for years) couldn't drive their way out of a wet paper bag, yet they're all gods gift to driving under a very thin veil of humility. Lotus guys on the other hand, are usually humble about their driving abilities, and tend not to talk down about other cars. Interesting how either a car's community will corrupt you (or maybe those people are just attracted to those cars?)

What did you expect when going into the bmw fourms?? They all think they drive ferrari's over there. I feel bad for the aftermarket companies having to deal with these fl_lck heads.

I find it odd that one of the biggest complaints on these boards is people judging ALL OF US by the car we drive, the Z, yet one of the biggest retorts are "Well BMW drivers are xxx, honda drivers are yyy, and Porsche drivers are zzz."

Judging someone, or a group of people, by the car they drive or the forum they belong to is a bit silly.

Wow dude really? It's statements like this that cause these kinds of useless posts. I'm still a member at m3post and most people know what they are driving. I won't post about anyone here but many people do the same here. All the forums are the same. I've learned that no matter what car forum you decide to join you will always come across the dumb #*@)$*)@*)$*)@)*)@)@)'s that just add to the fire. We know why we bought the car. Don't need to prove it to anyone else.

I'm pretty sure no matter what car you drive, whether it be a Z, a Ferrari, or even an old clapped out 91 Toyota, someone, somewhere will find a way to make fun of you for what you drive. So just enjoy the ride if it puts a smile on your face, who cares?

Most of them know nothing of significance about the Z or its heritage (Z is the icon of Japanese sports cars like the Vette is American), nothing ricey about this pure sports car. Enough said.....

I still don't get why anybody here should care what a dude who drives a BMW 325i thinks about our Z.

Whenever I take my 335i in for service and they give me a service loaner (328i) which has MORE power than the 325i that OP drove, I swear that car IS the defnition of dull. The engine in that car is completely gutless. Please you guys, don't put the 335i and 328i/325i in the same catagory, completely different driving experience. Close to 100whp/torque difference, plus the 335i has much bigger brakes and a great transmission made by ZF, not GM sourced unit like the 325/328i.

They're two different animals, altogether (categories, that is). Bimmers are more comfort-oriented; Zs are more thrill/sport oriented. Me? I'll stick to my Z!

... I test drove a 335i sedan w/ sports package... that thing HAULS ***... now would i trade my Z for one... no way... would I buy one for my wife secretly so i can drive it? probably...

You dont have to hate BMWs if you own a Z... and vice versa... only the man w/ every car in the world should feel like a snob lol... someone will ALWAYS have a better car...in some sense
