Glad to see some other F-body owners, I have a 97 black WS6 that I drove today and the sound and torque of that V8 was great. The manual trans. in my Firebird is better than the notchy trans. in the Z. Shorter throws, a closer gate, my clutch was surpirsingly heaver than the Z.

Change the color black cherry to a different color. So then black cherry was only offered on the coupe during '10

That may happen, I believe Nissan does a special color each year. 2009 was yellow, 2010 is black cheery, I would bet orange for 2011.

In no particular order:

1.) Added coat protection/ clear bra installation.

2.) To compete with the competition, the 370Z definitely needs to add more horsepower.

3.) Stiffen the suspension and lower the overall height.
So who is the Zs competition? Cuz right now the Z is pretty much on top of its game. How many other V6 330 hp cars are out there in its price range?

I would like to see DSG in the ATs and possibly AWD.

AWD - GT-R
Double clutch - GT-R
Turbo - GT-R

Sorry guys, but the GT-R is using some of the tech you want and I can bet Nissan will keep it split up until either the GT-R moves onto the next best thing or the GT-R disappears.

I would like to see nothing changed... Maybe make less of them actually?

And the 370 needs more HP to compete with the competition ?

What car for 30k gets you 333 hp and low 13 second 1/4 and more than comparable handling ??? Pontiac Solstice ? Saturn Sky ? Hyundai Genesis ? BMW 335 ? Lexus is350 ? (power is there but not for 30K closer to 50 ) Corvette ? Yes, but its a Chevy and still way more money ... Mustang GT? inferior.

You want it to compete with the cars priced 45k+ but for 30k...

We are lucky it makes the power it does ... The car is rock solid and I love everything about it..

Actually My one change would be put the VLSD in the Base, its an embarrassment to the Z to be a peg leg.. Coming from someone with a base model!!!

They actually make two special colours per year - Yellow and Titanium for 2009 and Black Cherry and Anniversary grey for 2010. but only available in some countries.

1. Power and NM in the form of twin turbo like the old 300zx
2. A real mechanical LSD not a VLSD!
3. Standard rear view camera and sensors
4. No more wet windows
5. A rear hatch that actually pops open on the first press.
5. 19" wheels as standard in Australia from the get go....grrr

rant over.

Does the TSB we got in the States not work for you guys about the rear hatch?
Forgot about Titanium as we did not get it.

It wouldn't be a low 30k if you add in all of the navi and touring packages.
I'm also not basing this on engine only. V8s from Ford, Chevy, and Dodge are also allowed in this game just because they are also sports car at a lower level.

And why would the Mustang be inferior? I'll agree with the 2010's Mustang but there is no doubt in my mind that the 2011's might edge the current 370Z. Hence it is important for Nissan, imo, to upgrade to compete and better its opponents. And as for Chevy, I was actually thinking of the Camaro SS. If I can recall correctly, so far, the Camaro has beaten the 370Z (Nismo?) on all of the tracks despite it being a stereotypical straight line performance car. Competition and bragging rights usually stem from performance statistics. It would be harsh for the Camaro SS drivers to say that in a straight, they would beat us AND on the track.
What can we say about them? That our car is smaller and is more fun to drive? Sure, maybe for you, but for the general public, people want to see which car is better mostly from a performance/competition standpoint.

This tread encompasses all ranges of the 370Z including the 40k Nismo.

+1 The 370Z eclipses the similarly priced competition in every catagory except straight line power. This is where I would add some. It doesn't have to match power for power, just match acceleration times. Due to it's lighter weight, I'd say if they could squeeze 360 to 370 hp, it will match the 2011Mustang and stomp on the Camaro and Challenger in 0-60. The extra power would also probably best the Cayman S on the track. A win-win. The stock block seems to be able to take this much power with ease so the uptick shouldn't cause a huge price jump. It's easy to want twin turbos and larger blocks, but then you loose the 370Z actual biggest current benefit, it's increadable bang-for-the-buck.

When we say "best bang for the buck" I think we need to keep in mind that this is all determined by how much money you have to begin with. A person who only makes 20K a year isnt going to call the Z the best bang for the buck. A person who makes 200K a year isnt going to call the Z the best bang for the buck. Its all perspective to your income. Those of us in here are fairly close in income thus it works for us. But best bang for the buck would be something like which car gives the most HP/ TQ/ performance/ handling/ style/ quality/ even functionality etc per dollar. And Im not sure what car that is.

The Z is a good car and in a couple of years it will up its HP just like it has always. Its a cycle all car companies play in.
