Those with AT, what do you use for MT mode?

ok Im probably weird but I carried this over from my 2008 GTI that had DSG. Gears 1, 3, 5, and 7 I shift with the paddles. Gears 2, 4,

Gears 1, 3, 5, and 7 I shift with the paddles. Gears 2, 4, and 6 I shift with the stick. When at rest or cruising my hand rests on the shift knob.
