It's incidents like this that may convince car manufacturers to not even allow for VDC to be turned off in future models. Indeed, I believe there are already some cars in production that don't really allow for traction control to be fully disengaged, even after you've hit the button to turn it off. It's a shame that it only takes a few rotten apples to ruin things for everyone else.

That really sucks. All he had to do was admit his mistake, learn from it, and move on.

Another one bites the dust....hopefully wherever he is, he's not naive to think that this is a quick 2 week fix. I wish it something they told you when you buy a Nismo, "If anything happens please be aware that replacement parts are always delayed and on back order." I know I flamed him through and through, but come on you're telling me that your friend turned it off the night before, what's next your mom turning VDC off?

Yeah, you have to do everything you can to straighten the trajectory of the car out so you can brake most effectively. Exactly how you do it depends on the setup of the car... some are very tail happy off throttle, some get twitchy under braking... etc.

Alright who hurt the Op's feelings!
![]() ![]() ![]() curious as too why Op doesn't show that he drives a Z? a real Z owner would be proud to let others know what he drives. Just food for thought... Last edited by Trips; 02-23-2010 at 10:06 AM. |

I always facepalm when people start turning off the VDC on public roads.
on track days fine but not on the public road. but I guess they want to start drifting everywhere. I mean I need to watch out with it raining here i have had it go sideways once in a while even with VDC on |

He could have just deleted the thread.
If I crashed my Z, I'm not sure that the first thing I'd do is come post pics of it on here. If I did post pics, I'm sure I'd give some details so others could learn from my mistake.
