Are You Ready to Buy? If So, We’re Doing It Again!
<o:smarttagtype namespaceuri="urn:schemas-microsoft-com<img src=" images="" smilies="" redface.gif="" border="0" alt="" title="Embarrassment" smilieid="2" class="inlineimg"></o:smarttagtype>Have you been thinking about or are you ready to buy a new Nissan or Infiniti vehicle? If so, you need to read on!
For background you may want to look at this prior thread: For Those Ready to buy... Nissan has just announced a new sales incentive as it hopes to achieve an all-time record for vehicle market share for fiscal 2009 (which ends on March 31, 2010) by reinstating the “Sell 1” campaign that was so successful last Spring. The new campaign is called “Sell 1 NOW” This only lasts from now through March 31st - during this time I can issue as many VPP claim numbers as I want (usually we can only issue a handful in a given year); typically, “friends” would qualify for the lowest discount (which is still a good deal) but for the balance of the Sell 1 NOW program; you get the full discount (the exact same discount I qualify for as an Nissan employee). <st1></st1>Lot's of information about the program can be found here: Nissan Vehicle Purchase Plan <o></o>I don’t have specific information about specific dealers –some dealers will participate and some won’t…some may participate on an Altima or a Sentra but not on a 370Z or a G37…it’s totally voluntary on their part. But, chances are, even if one dealer won't participate you can probably find one not too far away who will. Also, as far as prices go, I don’t have specific prices as that will be completely dependent on the specific vehicle you want to purchase but if you use the link above, it will at least give you an idea of the program and how good a deal it would be for you. Essentially, the program will allow you to buy a vehicle for less than dealer invoice on the car (you’ll know exactly how much you are saving because the actual dealer invoice will be reflected and you’ll see exactly how your final price was computed). Individual salesmen may not be familiar with the program – I suggest you call the dealer you may want to work with and speak with their fleet sales manager, tell them what you would like to buy and ask if they participate in the Nissan Vehicle Purchase Program. If you want to use the VPP program; this is what I’ll need from you: 1. Your First Name, Middle Initial and Last Name 2. Your street address, city, state and zip 3. Your email address 4. Your Telephone Number (including Area Code) When I receive your information, I’ll be able to generate a VPP claim number through our system which I’ll provide to you along with a scanned copy of my ID/info which you’ll then take to your participating dealer. I’ll forward this information in two PDF documents as email attachments sent to your email address. Special note: Currently the Nissan Versa 1.6 models and GT-R are not eligible for purchase under VPP If you haven any other questions, please ask and I’ll do my best to answer but the link I provided above does a pretty good job of explaining the program. For those who want to participate and/or have questions; feel free to PM me or email me through the forum (if you email, please include your THE370Z.com screename). Thanks for reading!!! :tiphat: EDIT/PECIAL NOTE: I humbly apologize but I just learned that I've been giving out some bad info; specifically, to take advantage of this promotion the VPP claim number must be used (the vehicle sale must take place) on or before March 31st. I was operating under the belief that the numbers would be "good" for the usual 90 days from date of issue but that is NOT the case. NOTE (03/11/2010): Wow...we are almost halfway through the Month of March already! While I can issue numbers even up to March 31st, realistically, I would HIGHLY SUGGEST that if you are going to or think you are going to take advantage of this that you contact me no later than March 23rd both to give me time to get the claim number issued and you time to find the vehicle you want and close the deal by the 31st. Thanks to all the MANY of you that have already requested claim numbers from me...the response has been terrific! |
Robert, did you ever figure out how many actual sales you generated last time? I know not everybody that got the VPP number actually bought, but I'd be curious to know how many did. BTW, bless you, you 370Z enabler! :D
|
Robert,
Does this include 2010 models? Not sure from your post. DB |
This is an incredibly nice thing for you to do. It sounds like Nissan is really going after the market that Toyota is going to lose. I just bought a Toyota Venza as a second car last week. I really wanted to buy a Nissan Maxima, but I was trading in a Corrolla. Toyota dealers were the only ones giving me close to fair value for my trade, and they gave me a deep discount on the Venza. Since this car is the family funster and will probably be held on to for quite a long time I'm not worried about Toyota's perceived quality problems.

Koeppel Nissan honors VPP on any cars (GTR excluded) and I will even locate a vehicle that is not in my inventory for any forum members or their referrals that are near us in NYC.
That's a very nice thing for you to do for everyone ROBERT_NASH, don't mean to solicit on your thread, but at least everyone knows where to go with this info!:tiphat: |
Great effort! reps to you

Processing Update - 02/23/2010
Everyone,
I've been almost inundated with requests and I'm working through therm as quickly as I can...I hope to be totally caught up by the end of the day so if you haven't received an email and/or a PM response from me by this evening please let me know; I don't want to miss anyone! |
Thanks for doing this Robert.
Im sure we can all be patient! |
I have completely caught up on all the requests I’ve received through about 1PM (central time) today so if you haven’t had a reply form me please email or PM me again.
I am especially concerned that one or more emails may have been caught by my junk mail filter…I tried to spy them and move them to my inbox but I may have missed one so if you’ve emailed me through the forum and haven’t heard back by now please do write again. <o></o> Thanks! |
I'll have all requests received caught-up by 5PM central time today so if you've asked me for a claim number or sent me a PM and haven't received your claim number/a reply by then please let me know!
I DO hope that a lot of your guys buying new 370s plan on bringing them to ZCON2010 in Nashville this summer (although feel free to not participate in the car show as I don't really need any more competition! :) ) |
^^ ill be seeing you there with my new 370 thanks to your help. =)
ill take some pictures as soon as i get my hands on them. |
PM sent. Thanks for this opportunity!!
|
Just want to say, I likely wouldn't have my Z if it were not for Robert. He got me a deal I simply couldn't refuse, and it all went VERY smoothly.
|
Then why doesn't he have more rep points!!!! Everyone who got a deal should rep Robert!

So does this mean we would all be getting A Plan (Nissan Employee) instead of D Plan (VPP Participating Employee)?
|
I believe Robert is B plan.

I wasn't sure of this myself until I called them yesterday to confirm. |
Thanks again for doing this Robert.
I got a quote from a dealer who said it would be $38.1-$38.7k with the VPP # for: 370z Touring - Manual + Sports + Navigation When I look on Edmunds it looks like invoice for this setup is about $37.1k. Is my dealer just being shady? Thanks!! |

However, with the VPP you'll KNOW what you are paying and why...you'll have all the figures in front of you and should be able to know exactly how everything was computed. |
Please note - claim numbers must be used by 3/31/10
Folks,
I humbly apologize but I just learned that I've been giving out some bad info; specifically, to take advantage of this promotion the VPP claim number must be used (the vehicle sale must take place) on or before March 31st. I was operating under the belief that the numbers would be "good" for the usual 90 days from date of issue but that is NOT the case. I know that is going to throw a wrench into the plans of some of you who have already contacted me an planning on getting a number before the promotion ended but using in April or May or June but I'm afraid the promotion isn't structured that way. Again, I'm very sorry for the misinformation. |
Well, I might just have to move up my timeline then. :)
I took the liberty of calculating some things based on the links in this thread and the prices in our own thread here (if this crosses any lines please delete it). Here is what I came up with for 2010 Coupes: <TABLE border="1"> <TR><TH>Model<TH>Base MSRP<TH>Base Invoice<TH>Plan A/B (-4.3%)<TH>MSRP Savings<TH>Invoice Savings <TR><TH>Base MT<TH>$29,990.00<TH>$28,099.00<TH>$26,890.74<TH>$3 ,099.26<TH>$1,208.26 <TR><TH>Base AT<TH>$31,460.00<TH>$29,474.00<TH>$28,206.62<TH>$3 ,253.38<TH>$1,267.38 <TR><TH>Touring MT <TH>$34,660.00<TH>$32,104.00<TH>$30,723.53<TH>$3,9 36.47<TH>$1,380.47 <TR><TH>Touring AT<TH>$36,130.00<TH>$33,464.00<TH>$32,025.05<TH>$4 ,104.95<TH>$1,438.95 </TABLE> Based on this and let's assume you want Sport & Nav and pay MSRP for those options (which is the case for VPP I believe), I think you would be starting at a price of around $30,723 + $3,000 + $1,850 = $35,573. Even if you add in illuminated kick plates, carpets, splash guards, and Destination & Handling, you should still be under $37k so I think the numbers you were told seem high - but as Robert says, ask to see the paperwork and decide for yourself. Man, I should run this on the Roadster - you must've gotten a great deal on that Robert. Do you know if a VPP Claim # is good until you actually cash it in or it expires? In other words, if I go into a dealer, choose a car, get the VPP details and decline that, is the VPP # still good for another dealer/car or is it gone? Also, when you build your own on the Nissan USA site, they imply MT and AT are "incl" but when you choose one over the other the price changes. :icon17: Hope this helps some folks (and doesn't get deleted for violating any policies) and if I get banned because of this its been nice knowing you guys! :tiphat: |
I gotta say, if it wasn't for Robert_Nash, i would not be driving my Z as soon as i had wished. I got a VPP from him last time, and I gotta say, THANK YOU yet again. Everyone, take advantage of this, it's worth it. Too bad this didnt occur about a month ago, could have used this for my dads Maxima, o well.
again, thank you Robert. Good Luck again. |
The easy part is getting VPP from Robert, the hard part is now finding the car I want and a competent dealer.

Does anyone have the exact wording for the A/B plan with all of the rules? Basically, I would like to know the exact formula so I can calculate all of the numbers myself before stepping into the dealership.
According to the VPP website, the D plan, for example, only allows you to apply the discount on the car itself but not on any options. Unfortunately, it doesn't show how the A/B calculations differ without logging in with a valid employee login account. Thanks for the help. |
I do have a question for this VPP, what if I custom order one, which earliest arrival is 2 months from now. Can I close the sale before the March 31? or is it not a regular practice or even possible to make the sale before the car is built?
|
Someone should make an excel spread sheet that allows you to pre-calculate everything, depending on what model / options you want.
