When I had my 350 I was told by a couple reliable sources (personal mechanic, Nissan service reps) that it was in NO WAY bad for the car, and I have never had a problem with transmission for the three years I had the car. Now keep in mind if your doing this, it does need to be at the correct rpms otherwise you will hurt your tranny. It should come out real easy, and slide into the next year real easy, if you feel pressure your doing it wrong. I rarely do this though to be honest, and when i do its pretty much only from 3rd to 4th when I'm feeling lazy driving around town.
I understand why many people are commenting saying "NOOOO" but its probably because unless you do it correctly your going to ef something up, and it is kind of pointless. Also, advice like this I wouldn't take from Z drivers on a forum, your best bet is to find a friend who is a mechanic or at least a mechanic you can trust and talk to them. That's what I did. Btw - I DO NOT have the sport package on my Z Last edited by nextbesthing; 02-21-2010 at 02:47 PM. Reason: Non-Sport Model |
