To boot, you can drive it like a stick any time you want.

lol the AT is weaksauce. The MT can handle more torque
Get Phunk's new DCT option

Nothing will ever drive like a stick without a clutch pedal

If u r going to track it then don't waste money on big brakes. You will eventually want more HP after driving it. My clutch is at 107k miles so just don't do burnouts. This cars loves tires and that has been the biggest expense. Only thing I wish I did was put a protective coating on the front with all the rock chips. I find the insurance high since owners are constantly wrecking them see part out section. I have enjoyed my Z for 6 yrs but the love affair is about over.

I keep checking sites for used 370z's, but my biggest problem has been that you Z owners sure love black and white. My current truck is black, and the truck before that was black, and my car that I've had for 10 years is white. So... tired of those colors!

More important question though- Do you guys think the car has "snap over-steer"? I'm not drifting, but I do want a rear-drive car because I miss the occasional "looseness" while accelerating out of turns that I could enjoy in the my old bimmers (325 and 535) I had in the past. (In rain and snow anyways... those cars didn't have enough power to step out while accelerating out of turns in the dry. I used to let tires get real bald too since I had winter wheels with Blizzaks for that season. Quick story- I forgot to warn a friend once when I let him borrow the 325 without me in it and he looped it around because he let off the gas approaching an intersection in the rain and the LSD engine-braked both wheels. He said "my pick-up never did that!" Ha ha, his first lesson in posi rears.)

When I find a z, I wouldn't use the stickiest tires. More like 'B' performance but with some decent mileage life expectancy. So, maybe those tires have less abrupt of a traction/no traction threshold. I'd also look into a 'square' setup.

Does this car let you get a little movement under corner exit pretty safely? Or does it snap-step out and want to loop you around?

Be sure to get the touring package if you want the nicer amenities: heated seats, Bose sound system, etc.

........i just noticed your location lol

only a few 370's around. wouldnt be bad to have more.

typically theres 3-5 at cars and coffee. less now since i leave the Z at home for C&C nowadays.

there is a lot of cheap Z's available. market is blah and prices dropped out the bottom lately. especially since you want some barebones one which blows my mind lol i would suggest just getting a sport and touring is great addition.

got a specific year or price range in mind? i may be able to assist in your search.

This car doesn't have anything close to snap oversteer in stock form. You have so much time to correct it, you could make breakfast and take a nap before you need to do anything.

Also agree w/ abm. Oversteer for me has been pretty nice and progressive. Not gentle necessarily, but very predictable. You can induce it when you want to and catch it relatively easily. The quicker ratio on the steering (compared to quite a few other cars) is helpful with the catch. I actually really enjoy its oversteer predictability. Miatas have been a bit more smooth/predictable for me, but the Z makes me feel more like a hero on track haha.

Oh yeah, look at that... fellow Pittsburgher. I'm checking Autotempest, Craigslist, and Facebook, so hopefully seeing everything for sale.

I'm mostly looking for a Sport in manual. '16 or newer in blue or that very dark red color. My gripe with the model having the bells and whistles is that I suppose the head unit pares to a cell phone, and that feature drives me nuts in my truck. My wife's phone is always getting texts or calls... interrupting a song during a drive. Plus I don't feel like listening to her conversations through the speakers. Looks like the Sport or base will save me from that nonsense.

The Sport has Bluetooth, so that’s out for you. I believe the base doesn’t.
