I live in CA which is a front plate required state. Some cars I looked at on dealer lots had the plates installed and most had damage behind the plates

I live in CA which is a front plate required state. Some cars I looked at on dealer lots had the plates installed and most had damage behind the plates from the overly long screw tips. The car I bought did not have the bracket or plate installed and when prepping it I told the dealer NFW to put it on or the deal was off. I've only been given a ticket once for no front plate and I'll continue to take my chances.
