I had it towed to a local dealer (I'm on travel) and they said they need to replace the IPDM before they can start the car to diagnose it(but think it's the problem). What so u guys think? They want $1700 for parts and labor.
There is a thread about this, but the bottom line is: Take a hammer, beat the steering lock like you own it until it works, start the car, pull the fuse and be done.

When my steering wheel lock stopped working I tried the "hammer" method with no success. I then unplugged it for about 10 seconds, plugged it back in and it retracted. I then pulled the fuse and have not had a problem with it since.
