Question Should dealer replace or repair?

Nissan dealership chipped and scratched both my rear calipers while replacing the subframe. They are accepting responsibilities and will powder coat the calipers. Although, they are saying that they cannot put back on the NISSAN logo originally on them. I kinda like that NISSAN on them, can I force them to just replace the whole calipers with new ones if they cannot bring it back in factory condition?

I have a 2017 370Z Nismo which I bought 11 months ago. -Thanks guys!

On a 11 month old car I would insist they replace the calipers with new ones. I would not settle for anything less and am surprised they have taken this stance.

However, if they are going to have them re-powder coated and if you ever thought of a different color, this would be the time to take them up on it. Just make sure they warrant the powder coating in writing.

They are only doing the rear so I will have to match the red ones upfront and I will make sure that it is warrantied. Thank you!

Completely agree! They f**ked it up, they should do whatever it takes to restore them to OEM condition and this includes the decals. If no decals are available, then they have to replace the calipers. I would not settle for anything less. Maybe next time, they’ll hire actual auto technicians who give a sh*t instead of chimps to service cars.

Do not settle for anything. You want the car to be in the same condition as you drove into the dealership with.

I agree with simply getting the high temp Nissan decals and move on. But it's your car.

Nissan is cheap and they won't replace them with new ones since it is only cosmetic....

Please do try if you want, but it will likely be a waste of time.

yea how I feel about Nissan and I cannot wait to get my car back already. It has been a week. My service advisor is great but this is beyond his power. I'll see what I can do when I see them this Tuesday.

These things chip so easy it is not funny. I had no issues with my gray 2012 calipers, but my red 2013 calipers chipped very easily during a brake pad install. Not sure how I did it but it happened.

Perhaps you can ask them to reimburse you for the stickers....

This has nothing to do with Nissan. Nissan doesn’t own the dealership it’s a franchise and Nissan shouldn’t take any responsibility on this. It’s the dealerships issue not Nissan. All the dealers love to pay their techs under the flat rape system where it forces techs to rush rush rush and then they don’t won’t to take any responsibility for when things go wrong.

You brought the car to them in new condition and that is how it should leave, anything less is unacceptable. If they give grief call the Nissan hotline or take it to small claims the dealer will have 0 defense.
