Driving home late last night from a concert ~80 miles away. Patchy fog, mostly deserted rural backroads. After passing a total of about a dozen deer on the side of the road, I woke my wife up with a loud, "Sonofabitch!" followed by three rapid thumps. "What was that?" "A possum."
Cursory inspection this morning revealed no apparent damage despite me dead-centering him. He wasn't that big, and I think he might have gone possum-dead when he saw me coming and lowered himself a bit. When I spotted him he was moving but not quickly. Thank goodness he wasn't any bigger than he was. |
