nice, i want a mirror cover with no square hole in it. But can't seem to find one that is for the 370z. Or for another car but verified to fit.

Picked up my car from getting fixed. I cut someone off and got lightly rear-ended last month. Had to pay a $1000 deductible but at least I got a new used wheel and a new bumper out of it. Now I just need to refurbish the other 3 to match lol

Did my oil change with the lovely Nissan Ester oil and OEM filter. Went to go change my belt, tensioner and the 3 idler pulleys and realized I only had 2. Called my local dealer for the 3rd one. As I was tightening the new tensioner down, the bolt got hard as fvck to turn. So, as I backed the bolt out, I found a few threads all jacked up. I then had to call my dealer again for a new belt tensioner bolt and idler pulley bracket. I don't trust tapping the bolt on the bracket. Plus I'm a psychopath.
So, after getting done in that area what I could, I installed a rubber seal with very little cursing involved. Next, I went to take out my right front brake pads to inspect the rotor and pads and to lube up the pads since I'm getting squeaking coming from the right front when I brake occasionally from that corner. In my frustration with the belt tensioner bolt, I forgot to remove the little pins that go in the big pins that hold the brake pads. I fvcking broke both and gummed up the exit hole for one. One of the big pins was an absolute nightmare to get out with my punches and hammer, pliers and elbow grease. Looks like I got get those now too. I still have to do my air filters and cabin filter which are OEM and a heat shield. It's the one you remove when doing something like dropping the trans. It's U - shaped. My car is going to be up on jack stands for several days. Since I'm going to be balls deep in my lady friends mouth soon, I shall have no worries for the rest of my day. I think I'm going to put some cream on those cakes as well. |
Installed M35/45 Auto Shift knob recovered in Alcantara since the OE cover no longer matched when changing the OE Sport seat skins.

Seasonal Tire Swap
Put the winter tires/wheels on. Having some decent weather and figured we'd be buried soon enough, so got ahead of the game before it became a more urgent task.
Been really quiet on this thread lately. Has everybody stopped doing stuff with their Zs? |
Pulled the trigger on Z1s Black Friday deals. Got 228k miles, been on tein s techs for 200k? So I got z1 toe arms, z1 traction arms, z1 eccentric toe bolts, z1 front and rear end links, rear wheel bearings. Waiting to install when I pick up a set of true rear Coilovers in the spring. Haven’t picked the set yet, still reviewing.

Convenient to hit this number as I pulled into my driveway.

So over the past weekend I was replacing my Brainiac Tablet setup with a Kenwood DMX958XR, bigaudiofanat was helping me.
We found the battery completely dead (~5V). I had a Optima Yellow top which was about 2 years old. So even that I haven't driven in the past 6 weeks but that won't leave it completely dead. Anyway nothing was left on that I could tell so after about a half hour hooked up to his car we were able to get enough charge to get it to turn over and fire. In the process of the install we noticed that the brake light stuck on, so I am guessing the switch is sticking. Ran my car for another half hour and completed the switch over, it's a pretty nice head unit and I have replaced the battery because while it's probably fine for a daily driver I've heard AGM batteries lose much of the CCA being so totally discharged and running it only every few weeks isn't enough to keep the charge and turn the engine over. |

Mine isn't a daily neither and I have a Bosch AGM battery. I put the charger on weekly to top it off and always before turning it over to wake it up. I'd do this with any battery as to not cause undue stress. |

Don't get me wrong, I like the tablet, but it does have limitations, a few of which I managed to get around, others I couldn't. Volume, Phone, and backup camera being the top issues of mine. |
Completed maintenance on my Z a few weeks ago.
Oil change using the Nissan 5W-30 Ester oil, Nissan filter and crush washer. OEM engine air filters. OEM cabin filter. OEM right side hood/fender rubber seal. OEM U shaped shield that goes under the car between the mid pipe and drive shaft. OEM belt, belt tensioner and all three idler pulleys. There was a birdie in my engine bay. Also had to lube up my front right brake pads since they were squeeking. My Z is almost at 100k. I'm the original owner and it's been pretty solid. |
Whiteline bushings into OE front UCA's and Carbon Fiber instrument cluster lid. :yum:
I went with bushings only over fully adjustable UCA's as at best the car is used for spirited street driving and I don't have an issue with tire wear due to OE suspension geometry. I noticed my front negative camber increasing over the past few alignments to the point were it was 0.01* from being out of spec. Picked up some 5k mile UCA's and slapped the bushings in. I don't notice any additional NVH over OE bushings and they may be even "smoother" as the UCA's I replaced had 13 years and 99,650 miles of wear. Feedback and responsiveness feel better than the worn OE units as well. |
Unboxed my CAT back exhaust

So excited to receive my Invidia Gemini CAT back exhaust today. Going to be a long week until my local muffler shop can install it.

Installed New Center Cap
2 Attachment(s)
I bought a 3D printer a while ago, and I'm always looking for little things to do with it. I decided I didn't like the standard chrome Nissan hamburger center caps, and I couldn't find any others that I really liked, so I decided to create my own.
What do you think? |

Same on the Gemini, love it.
Install was super quick with the right tools, the hardest part was figuring out the orientation because it’s an Australian manufacturer |
Went to work and back!
|
Changed my oil with the Nissan 5W-30 ester oil and Nissan oil filter and crush washer.
Also drained and filled my coolant with Nissan blue coolant. Finally, I got fuel at Chevron. Gotta love that Techron. Z purrs like a kitten and runs like a gladiator. Oh, I also installed a new Nizzan battery. |
No hamburgers on my Roadster

Coolant, 170* Stat.(trial), radiator and heater hoses w/metal mender. BTW Nissan thanks for the amazing access on the heater hoses! :shakes head:
|
Replaced my defective headlight indicator lights(the small bulbs on the side of each light) with bright white leds that compliment my 6500 RCP hid bulbs. These little Auxito bulbs are bright but tend to burn themselves up rather quickly.
Checked the Zs suspension to ensure steering and suspension parts were in good working order. |
Replaced my battery with a red top Optima because the old one kept leaking and corroding the positive terminal.
|
Today I thought of my 370 Z's being pulled out of their car bags so that I could drive them in warm weather. Just daydreaming, there is still snow on the ground.

Quote:
-install the diff brace -install brake cooling -install rack steering spacers -refurbish the wheels Timing is just right and I CAN'T WAIT to get the Z back on the road again :driving: |

OS Giken STR (see thread) New master cylinder |
I have finally changed my wheels on my 2014 370z nismo! Got myself some 19'' Rays 57CR.
I have been wanting to change them since I bought my Z, not a fan of the OEM ones. https://i.imgur.com/H3llrze.jpg |
