After explaining why I couldn’t produce a physical insurance card, why the car didn’t have an inspection sticker on it, and showing him my stack of PBA cards, he relaxed. A bit... a-hole still read me the riot act and told me to “get rid” of the tint if I planned to drive through “his state”. I have no plans to do either. |

FWIW NJ is a socialist republic I wouldn't spend a dime in any such state. |

The headlight and fog light color look to match pretty well. Are you on stock HID bulb? The tiny indicator bulb (194 size next to the projector lens), did you change that from clear to orange? Or is it just the contrast of picture? What's that black thing mounted around the lower right corner of your license plate? |

The color temp is 5000K by my estimate, and it doesn't match my Lasfit 6000K LED retrofit, which is fine. again, the SAE Driving lights are for when I decide to drive to Houston early in the morning or something like that. The indicator is an orange 194 incandescent bulb. I don't know what you mean by the lower right hand of the license plate, but you might just be seeing the glare against where i cut the OEM grille. |
I just got back from ZDAYZ in Blowing Rock NC. What a great time and awesome community. The event was not staged at the resort which was a good call. The area is beautiful and there are many great driving roads. Lot of good local food and plenty of reasonable lodging. We rented a condo and my portion was $70 a night. Hopefully more people will start showing back up for this great event. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...83f378ed36.jpg

Purchased stage two tune from Ecutek, with different fuel maps (Remote Tune). Installed LED lights on the Map lights, cargo space, and license plate.

We all know Jars car isn't running either. He probably bought 14 others that sit in his yard while he debates what 73 sets of rotors to put on which ones.

I got the new power steering pressure sensor installed after tools showed up yesterday. Took some datalogs for the tuner on the test drive. She's purring like a jaguar on PCP :driving: |
LOL power steering pressure sensor, that DTC lives rent free in my ECU

No idea hahaha. I need to probably check it. maybe it got unplugged all this time lmao

I replaced my battery and the car feels and runs noticeably better. I noticed my voltmeter was reading low when i was working on some electronic wiring in my car, and on a whim, I just went and replaced the battery since I don't remember when the last time it was changed. The car not only idles better, but other things like the fuel-trims are more in-line. I wonder if a worn battery with wonky voltages can affect the car? Seems plausible, especially since my car is now reliant on reliable voltage supply stuff like the ethanol sensor.
|
Oil changed, new plugs, swapped out the CAI for stock boxes w/ K&N drop-ins, fixed the clicking axle nuts and greased up the friction points on the brakes to get rid of some squeaks.
I am hoping the stock boxes and new plugs will give me a couple extra MPG with gas at $7/gal out here in CA. |
Banging my head against an issue with my car throwing the DTCs for the front O2 sensors even though the logs look good. I wonder if it has to do with the brand of sensors i swapped them to, (i think they're bosch). Otherwise, the car seems to run OK. a little sluggish right now but i think that is expected with high temps and my new bumper lacking the intake duct.
|
I did get some logs and the AFRs are dipping into the 10s on partial throttle acceleration. On top of that, the car actually stalled on me after washing it lmao. I got it started again and drove it around and it acted like nothing happened. Sent the logs to Seb. I’m thinking getting my tune done in TX winter was a bad idea on my part lol

Cleaned my corroded positive battery post and replaced the terminal/fuselink.
|
Okay, I have a plan of action, I think these PNP harnesses for the ID1050Xs are crap. I'm going to get those hard-wired into the factory harness for a more reliable connection
|
Swapped out my old PS4S with DWS06+
Got the free alignment check since I've never checked it in 6 years of ownership. A little extra negative camber but otherwise it's looking pretty good. https://i.imgur.com/l4L7oaI.jpg |
Update on the car: We think changing out the battery for a fresh one, driving around in very hot weather, and going back to the OEM bumper (ductless) probably both contributed to a richer fuel mixture on the tune. Right now we're working on fixing that. I'm really considering finding a place to rent dyno time to get the car dialed in.
I still plan on getting my injectors manually wired in. I just need to find time to drop it by the shop. |
did a wheels off detail today/yesterday
completely filthy, ceramic coated my pos wheels and wheel wells. Carpro Blackout coating on the tires. https://www.dropbox.com/s/4sko87enjw...0.50.jpg?raw=1 https://www.dropbox.com/s/a3t19372ox...2.55.jpg?raw=1 One day i will buy a scissor lift. This **** is a such a pain in the ***. |

Got my car back today.
sway bar, end links, subframe collars, diff bushings, engine mounts. All that seems fine New Invidia Exhaust went on. (with the supplied gaskets if that matters) But the car won't put out any power. It feels like it's putting half throttle, when my foot is on the floor. I can barely get it above 120 (km/h) in sixth. it revs all the way to 7k no problem. Just gets there really really slowly. Maybe an exhaust leak? dunno if that would cause the ecu to do weird **** or maybe the rear wheel speed sensors were damaged when they took the diff out. It's also really stumbling while idling. EDIT: i have a pending P010B code. lovely. |

Check the air intake boxes and make sure the maf sensors are plugged in. edit: also check and make sure all your O2 sensors are connected. |
I ordered some MAF cleaner, but the code is still pending (not confirmed in maybe 3 trips since). And the throttle issue is gone now.
will check the other stuff later today. |
Berk HFC installed, liking the new sounds and feels. Ecutek tune for moar power. Next step, suspension upgrades.
Had an P010B in the past. Car would go into limp mode, pull over and restart BAM problem gone. Cleaned the MAF sensors, replaced air filters, didn't resolve the problem. Brought car to dealer, they updated the ECM and POOF, problem solved. I've read so many different resolves for the code, cleaning the throttle bodies seemed to be the most common resolve. |
