Sounds like it may be the starter. Whack it with a hammer on the side. If it starts, you have a dead spot in the starter and will need to replace it.

I've got a 20 lb sledge that I use to split logs. Should do the trick.

2 lb hammer and tap gently while some one presses the 'go' button.....You can't beat it like you beat the steering lock.... :rofl2::rofl2: |
This ^^^^^^^^^ LOL it is basically whatever you can get to it.

Good luck chasing this down! |
Are you sure the clicking you are hearing isn't the pinion gear extending and the battery simply doesn't have the cranking amps to turn the motor over?

Also sometimes a car with a bad battery wont even take a jump. So that's always something to consider too. |

I'm pretty sure JAR has replaced the battery already... |
Cars with ECU's need between 10 to 10.5 volts to operate. Anything less, they won't operate to save themselves. And they don't like voltage spikes either.
A battery can show 12 volts and still be bad. You if you can't get a car to start by jumping. Remove one cable from the battery and jump the car with the battery out of the circuit. |
Winding them out a bit on a beautiful GA afternoon
Love that exhaust note!

Friend of mine drove home from Tampa, Fl. Car quite charging halfway through the trip. Well, no lights for him the rest of the way home. He made it. I got in the next day and he told me what happened. I tapped on it with a hammer and it started charging again. Hell, he taught me that trick. Not sure what he was thinking. LOL Went and got a new alternator anyway. It was my old car and I had bought a lifetime warranty alternator. This was alternator #3 for that 1978 280z. LOL

Brand new battery. Recent test showed 640 cold cranking amps. Should be more than enough. For peace of mind, awhile back I threw in another battery that was working fine in another car. No dice.
|
Not sure why but my right rear is wearing faster than my left... maybe tire pressure? Need to check that on the weekend when car is cold.
Well the right is at the bar, left a tad above bars. Hoping tires are in this week so i can light up my olds |

Get the toe angle and pressure checked. Usually toe will kill your tires (cause uneven wear) before camber. I'm running -2.7 deg all around and my wear is even.

Seems like Z1 has discovered the joys of just-in-time inventory, minus the just-in-time part.

Next year i am probably going to look at getting the hd csc and whiteline diff bushings installed depending on budget... I love the FI exhaust. Once warmed up its sooo good. Neutral wont do it. But down shifting or while in gear hitting 3k rpm and pulling off the gas i get a nice byop sound. Not as burbly as the bimmers or turbos but it doesnt seem forced. Byop. Just the tip. |

lol im considering getting some similar style vents from Verus for my Honda. Damn 1.8L gets ridiculously hot.
I may even go as far as getting a Z1 oil cooler kit for it because it uses the same threaded filter as the Z LMAO |
Drove the 'ol girl to work last night. She is dirty but still looked good in the sun this morning.
