Default Heated Seats Failure

I just wanted to let the community know that my high setting on my heated seats has gone out. If you have heated seats but dont use them often, check to make sure your high setting works before it goes out of warranty.

Hey man, are you sure they are completely out? Going back to my Honda (and for that matter, most car companys in general), the seat warmers would only work on the "High" setting for a few moments (to get the seats warmed up). After that, they will go off, the only way to get heat back is to put them to low... Hope that is the issue!

Is there a fuse to protect overload on that circuit? Possible there is just a fuse that needs replacing....

I noticed this too. The High setting gets things cooking and then completely shuts off. If you then swap to low, it will stay toasty. I find it annoying and didn't say anything. Nice to know others have noticed this too.

for most cars, the high settings gets you toasty, then cycles on and off as not to roast your bum. the low settings is an always on setting. at least this is how it worked for the last 3 vehicles i've been in (all different makes, but no nissan)

Edit

Found this in the manual

"The heater is controlled by a thermostat, automatically turning the heater on and off. The indicator light will remain on as long as the switch is on."

At first my high setting used to pulse on and off. Now, no matter what they do nothing.

I have owned two Audis and both had dials for the heated seats with settings from 0 to 6. 6 could probably set your cloths on fire and it never cycled on/off. The hi/low settings seem fine though as 6 options was probably overkill.

For the OP, if the high setting is doing nothing then you need to check your fuses and/or have a dealer visit.

this thermostat controlled high setting makes sense. now if the seats NEVER warm up with the setting on High, then there is definitely a problem.
