It does help to do this in my '97 Maxima. As was mentioned above, if the car has been sitting an hour or more, it takes time for the fuel pump to pressurize the system and start it up. But otherwise, it starts right up. I notice this only on my Maxima. Our Acura, 370z and Ford F-150 always start right up with no delay required. YMMV. Hmmm, maybe I should check my fuel filter...ya think?
