Can you request they provide you an image of where you were present in this express/fast lane?
In IL, if you accumulate 5 or more vtolls (video tolls) on the tollroads, they mail you a letter with an image of your license plate along with the fine. I only had received this once, on a motorcycle when I forgot to add the plate number to my ipass account. Called the customer service # and pleaded my case. They charged my account the standard ipass rate instead of the inflated $20/toll rate or whatever it was back then.
