Default Crashed my Fairlady

Hello fellas, it was raining that day and yes traction control was off (my friend turned it off) and the rear end in the left hairpin near my friend's house. I hit the a tree pretty hard head on after spinning out. No one got hurt so that's good. It was pretty dark so it was hard to tell how jacked up the car was but I took a picture of it in the junkyard later.

This may sound silly but I thought I would ask anyway. The day before the crash I got new tires (pilot sport a/s 3+) and I washed my car. I armor all'ed the sidewalls and thought because the tires were brand spankin new I would lift the car up and put armor all over the tires. The whole tire would be jet freakin black 360 degrees. It looked hella shiny for the ladies. You guys don't think this might have caused my accident, do you? I know Armor All is a little greasy but I wonder if there was something else wrong with the tires also, or something?

I used their Outlast Tire Glaze product...Unlike their Extreme Shine Gel, the Outlast Tire Glaze didn't say anything about not armor all'ing the tread...it said "Dries completely, no sling guaranteed"

There was probably something wrong with the tires anyway if they caused the wreck. I'm gonna go down to Tire Kingdom and complain about them selling me defective tires.

This sounds eerily similar to a post many years ago where the OP wrecked his IS300 in exactly the same way, right down to the wording.

Any tire shine will make the tires slick and shouldn't be put on contact surfaces, but it sounds like this was more of a life lesson than anything. Glad you are safe and unhurt. Take the loss and move on.

This exhibits a shortage of talent on an epic scale ............

1. New tyres take a few miles to scrub off the "release agent" used to allow the tyre to be pulled from the manufacturing mold. They are very skatey until that is gone (maybe takes 100 miles to get rid of it)
2. Putting a silicone-based tyre treatment on the tread will have magnified this 10-fold
3. Turning traction control off was a bad decision of yours (not sure how your friend can actually turn it off).
4. Gunning the car in a hairpin was the 4th d1ck-head decision

So harden-up and admit you screwed the pooch big-time.

I count 4 bad decisions on your part and you should be thankful that you did not hit the tree harder and cause real injury

If you came into my tyre shop with your level of attitude, I would be inviting you "to go forth and multiply"

Treat this as a learning opportunity and thank Mr Nissan's engineer's and manufacturing folks for making a solid car that could absorb the impact without killing you and your friend.

The accident is entirely your fault ............ admit that and you will have started to grow up

Darwinism at work. The OP could be a poster boy for prophylactics.
