I wouldn't go any smaller then a 25 row cooler. In fact, I would go with a 34 row. You are getting thermostatic sandwich plate. So that takes care of

I wouldn't go any smaller then a 25 row cooler. In fact, I would go with a 34 row. You are getting thermostatic sandwich plate. So that takes care of the cold temps. Higher oil temps, the more timing it pulls. But with being tune. I don't know if it still does it or not.
