If you do it, watch your temps closely. On my C-Class, everyone started putting mesh in front of the intercooler becasue of the huge gaps in the main grill. And everyone started over heating. The engineers make the openings for airflow as small as they can and when you start taking away even 10% or 15% of it, it makes a difference.

i did this to my previous car 997, no change in temp as a DD, it had 3 rads sitting there, guys back east were always overheating due to leaf, other debris clogging the fins.
