Hold up, Base w/ touring owner here, get the sport ( nismo if you wanna stunt on the sport guys ).

all versions of the 370z have the same engine. ‎3.7L VQ37VHR V6

Sport version gets; LSD, bigger wider forged wheels, bbk, SRM, front air dam, wing, gear indicator on the cluster

this changed in 16... maybe 15' as well with the new packages being offered/lowered base price.

older models should have them.

oh and in canada they only offered base or touring sport. then tech on top of everything if opt'd.

yea... we're backwards. in fact we don't even offer the auto nismo in 15' lol

I'm pretty sure all Zs in the US have those sidemarkers since it's a requirement for the DMV. Touring gets the lighted kickplates, though.

Heel-toeing in this car takes a bit getting used to since throttle response is not instant. I <3 SRM and use it every day. Takes the headache out of heel-toeing and great when having to downshift in traffic.

You should get the sport version if you don't want to mod the diff, brakes, wheels later.

I don't miss the sport wheels or the brakes, already upgraded to much better components but when on the track I sometimes dream of SRM just so I have one less thing to worry about screwing up when aggressively downshifting in the twisties.

As a base owner, I will eventually be needing better brakes and I wish I had the VLSD.

But, that being said. I love my car, it was the right car for me at the right time and I pulled the trigger and have not regretted it for a single second. Plus the black cherry color has really grown on me, no one except another enthusiast is going to notice the wheels or the brakes are different.

If your choosing between a Z with sport package and no Z, any Z you get will change your life in a positive way, sport package or not. if you've got the money laying around and are just waiting for the right car, then keep looking if it makes you happy, but know you won't be disappointed either way.

I chose a base non-sport because it fit my price point at the time of purchase. I've upgraded wheels, suspension, and LSD as my income has allowed. Financially it would have made more sense to have saved an extra year or two to get the sport package, but that also would have been 1-2 years of not driving a Z. Plus the LSD I have (Quaife) is better than the VSLD on the sport and I like the wheels I have more than the Rays. Not having SRM also forced me to learn how to heel-toe. Every car decision is a personal one and for me getting the non-sport has worked out just fine.

the good thing about the base non-sport is dat u have better selection of wheels without worrying about caliper clearance.
