sounds like you need to move because most cops around me make more than I do lol
one of which I hang out with has a modded GT-R. I feel he does quite well for a cop.

lol that may be in PA then... i play basketball with a cop who works 2 side jobs as well on top of his normal work hours. i know the base start for a cop here is 30k

No they do not! We really don't get payed enough for what we do, but I love my job and wouldn't change it for the world. Even when the SHi* hits the fan.. Case in point the 7/16 attack here in Chattanooga..

You should triple that quote due to the lifetime of health benefits and pension that you get after you retire that most private sector workers don't get.

most private sector workers don't have to carry their head in a briefcase every day they go out to their job. i'm definitely not all cops are great guy, but they don't get paid enough with the bs they have to deal with. i know i'd get fired the first day lol.

jobs are not paid by what people think is deserving. They are paid on supply and demand. People are usually on waiting lists in droves to be a police officer so there's a huge demand. Meaning a lot of people see the risk/reward of carrying their head in their briefcase to work appealing. So participating in raising the demand and then complaining about the salary is pretty absurd.

the north must be different, because there is no "waiting list" for people to become cops here. not that many people want to put on body armor here and wonder if they'll get shot at or not. but not to derail the guys thread anymore, carry on

Well they should get to do so being that they stick their lives on the line 24 hours a day. Unlike any other job, first responders have to run TO the danger. Everyone else gets to run away.
