That's based on demographic. Both Z and get do similarly in dfw. But here they rip you off once a car has a sporting two and/or appearance.

I love the Z for the pureness, and I don't have to pay for all the factory bells and whistles since I rather get something better from the aftermarket. For example, the Z's base head unit is easy to replace without the need for special hardware. I don't have to worry about the crazy integration. The HVAC panel, while not as fancy, is super easy to use so I can focus more on driving. Such simple things minimize driver distraction so more time is spent enjoying the car.
I have a completely aftermarket stereo... BUT at $34.000 and manual cloth seats, my only wish on a stock Z. Was having a stereo worthy of this caliber car. I probably would have replaced it anyway. It it's the principle of the purchase. I want to see better quality for the money.

From my standpoint. It's not about Genesis hate or love. It's about the Z'S place in the market, alongside pseudo-competition.

As far as my seats. I have cloth. I find when I remotely roll down the window 5 minutes before entering. The car isn't bad. And my acc cools up the car near immediately.
Also there's a report about hackers using those apps to disable and enable brakes by remote. Thanks... But No thanks.

The biggest problem about the Z for me was...me. I was bored. I bought the Z in 2013, that was when prices were the highest. 6 months later they cut prices by $4000. I was pissed. The Z was bare bones, fun to drive, but spartan. Raw. I got a LOADED Genesis for thousands less than i paid for a base Sport Z. Not quite as fun to drive but it is MUCH more comfortable in every way, plus its still PRETTY fun to mess around in.

I've driven many a Genny. I like them. If I had a G in my sights? I'd take a long look at the Genny for sure. No Question. But there isn't anyyy argument, the Z is better than both cars performance wise. (Having owned 2 G'S).
Like I said... The Genny is pseudo comp. If Nissan made our cars stand out a little more in terms of quality and features? The Genny- Z argument would be non- existent. There's no comparison. Not even to an infiniti G.

IMO, the Genesis Coupe is more of a direct competitor to the G37 Coupe.

No. It's a not as nice, Korean knock off of a G. I test drove a 2012 mid level Genesis coupe (touring?) before I bought my G37 coupe. The Genesis is nice, but the G is that much nicer, and better looking IMO.

2012? The good ones came out in 13. Pre 13 I too scoffed. 13 and above is a whole different ball of wax. The Z is a sports car, through and through. The Genesis is a GT, no matter what flavor. And that is two different buyers. Having owned a 370 and trading it for a GC was the right move for me NOW. I get 90% of Z performance, 120% more comfortable DD. It's not for everyone but it's a hell of a bargain.

My bad, it was a 2013. 3.8, 8speed auto, leather, NICE car. I was real close to buying it, then I drove the Infiniti. I'm not knocking the Hyundai at all, it just lacks a little refinement. As long as your car makes you happy that's all that matters.

Heres my 2 cents...gen coupe is nice, my co worker has one and the interior is nice, but as for the 8 speed auto being smooth....no, just no, that thing hesitates like hell when you are just cruising at lower speeds and hesitates when you punch it and it's a very unpleasant feeling when it does so...also, this was a 2015 that i rode in quite a few times, maybe his has a problem but my first impression of the transmission is that they still havent fixed the issues with their transmissions

I test drive the Infiniti, it was, IMO, a smudge better inside, still lacked some of the tech I wanted though. A bit more comfy, maybe too comfy as it lacked a bit with the loud pedal. And it was like $12K more. So I found a happy medium. Now I'm looking 18 to 24 months down the road. I'm all over the Z35 threads, so if Nissan can make magic again I might be in one. Again. It'll be my 105th Z lol. Hyundai might be whopping up something special too with the next Gen Coupe. I say "let them fight." Good for the buyer.

It's still a direct competitor. Nicer is a subjective need. Not a performance disparity.
