2015 370z vs 2015 Hyundai genesis coupe r-spec
We've hit there's when the stagnant base/sport 370z will be compared to the ever-evolving Hyundai Genesis coupe R-Spec. Both make similar numbers at similar prices. Sell about the same in numbers. Our cars hands down are the real drivers cars of the group. But truth is... If we evolved the Z at an equal rate as a Hyundai Genesis coupe. This review would've not sounded anything like this. Areas we should have been progressing. 1. Updating our interiors with more features and better materials. 2. An LSD throughout the range. This should never have been an issue. 3. The base stereo... SERIOUSLY! SMH These areas sound small but keeps our cars from competing with cars it shouldn't be compared to. |
NISMO compares far better, especially on the interior and materials though that's a good price for the Genesis Ultimate. I've said before, Nissan should just make the Tech package standard on the NISMO trim, if not sport, change nothing else (twin turdBo and/or some sort of displacement on demand tech, if not a dual clutch 8 or 9 speed tranny)....
Not that a 4 door compares to a 2-seat Z.... just sayin'. |
I just watched this a few min ago. Too funny. having both cars I pretty much agree with everything he said too.
|
Everyones new favorite word is the 370z is long in the tooth and the Nismo is lipstick on a pig. Sadly it's kind of true we really need a next generation z already .. also Nissan was just ranked close to the bottom again on reliability and customer satisfaction...

The Z is better than spoken of. It's cuz Nissan NEVER makes the appropriate updates. It becomes an easy target. Nissan doesn't know how to update in a progressive society when it comes to sports cars.
|
You would know best LOL! Everyday, the Gen coupe grows on me haha.

Have you driven a Genesis lately? I have. Both the transmission and the engine were "rough" compared to the Z. Still a nice car for the price.
|
Another aspect to separate the two vehicles: depreciation.
The Z does much better with that than the Genesis Coupe. |

Aint nothing wrong with the base model. I have the Sport Touring but Base is just as good

Hyundai? Really?
Really?.....it's a Hyundai for ***** sake. Not for me, but thanks anyway.

Ehh just because you make a certain car perform like another, doesnt make it a true sport car with lineage and hertige like the Z. If the genesis can withstand the test time like the Z, then it can come into the conversation. This is just a price point comparo, trivial
|
The Z is just plain impractical... :stirthepot:
...that's why I have a CRV (just picked up a used '08 last night) :rofl2: I love the Z for the pureness, and I don't have to pay for all the factory bells and whistles since I rather get something better from the aftermarket. For example, the Z's base head unit is easy to replace without the need for special hardware. I don't have to worry about the crazy integration. The HVAC panel, while not as fancy, is super easy to use so I can focus more on driving. Such simple things minimize driver distraction so more time is spent enjoying the car. |
:tup:Not much love for the Genesis...well, its really hot out. Lemme just turn on my car with my phone, make sure its nice and cool in there.
