LOL.

Seriously if people are so concerned about the oil temps, and they only apparently affect tracked cars, why don't people just install an oil cooler and/or use Motul or Redline full ESTER oil?

maybe that dealership just adds them on when they recieve them ... like my dealership always has a car with some nice volk wheels available if anyone would like them in their purchase price with the car...

unlikely but possible that they add the cooler as an option...

As someone else already stated, it's a power steering cooler if you're talking about the right (passenger) side of the car.

Sure it would, the part would cost them $200 to make, and another $50,000,000 to teach someone on the line to install it but lets not forget mark up (I mean you need to make money on it right?) so a total for an installed factory intercooler would be somewhere around $100 million *does his best Dr. Evil impression*

In regards to the oil cooler issue - There are pics of the pre-production 2010 NISMO with an oil cooler on the driver side, taking up half the front aperture of the bumper. My only thing is - the 2009 NISMO had an oil cooler on the pre-pro, and then didn't come with it, but they HID the oil cooler in the fender well behind the bumper where you can't see it. The 2010 NISMO pre-production isn't hiding the oil cooler, it's right up front in plain sight - which points me in the direction of implied inclusion in the production car, unlike hiding it where you can't see. Sorry for thread jacking. I'll go in my little hole, and say nothing more in this thread about it.

Oh and goatsucker, yeah that's a power steering cooler. I've got one. About 8x4" on the passenger side. Two hard lines with one U bend surrounded by heatsink surface area fins.

they could take the spare tire out and just put in a inflat kit (like my MKII TT), save weight and a few duckies to put the oil cooler on and keep it at their range. But on a normal driven car now that its broke in I dont have a prob with the oil temp and Im fairly heavy footed. I really think it calms down on the temp side after its broke in. Love the power.

I don't know -- my flat tire kit isn't just fix-a-flat, I have a compressor, too -- easily more costly than the temporary spare setup.

My 2010 sport touring has a cooler. At least it looks like it could be. I just saw it today. It's what is talked about for the Nismo. I'll put her on a rack to check but what else would it be? The 2010 also has heated mirrors and for the ladies heated seats. I am glad I waited out the 350 model I am an old school Z guy that was not happy with the looks of the 350, looked like a big Audi TT...
I go by Vettes n Porches and those boys are staring at her, Pearl White n Classy.
This 1200 mile break in is taking forever.. 850 miles n counting. She is so grippy it's kind of scary.. Much different than the Old school 280zxt n 280z's I have been driving, nice change though.. Those Evo's and STI's don't even make eye contact with me anymore.. There's a new kid on the block and it's all NISSAN. Lenny Arnoth

^My guess is that's your power steering cooler. If so, you're not the first to mistake it for an oil cooler.

It's true it's the P/S cooler, too bad, I thought we had another redesign upgrade.
I also found that the seat bottom has a problem, with the lack of side bolstor padding, the plastic on the sides digs into your thigh.. I guess it's like being married, there are just things you find out down the road. Now the question is, do you keep her??? Hell Yes
