Thanks to those that actually answered the question. The rest of you...well...thanks for telling me to buy a luxury car.

Perhaps i should've phrased it like this: the only thing holding me back from pulling the trigger on a '15 is if the' 16's improved road noise any, then i would get a '16. Yeesh.

perhaps we should've phrased it like this: it's a sports car. people worried about road noise shouldnt be considering one in the first place.

Pretty much.

IF you're going to be so sensitive to road noise albeit it's a subjective thing? Your better off in luxury sports car.

If you haven't take one for a test drive find out for yourself IF they're really that noisy.

Have a MY16, never drove the MY15 so can't comment, but yeah it's a raw sports car and you'll hear it all on a bad road. Doesn't bother me though, knew what I was buying .

I'm sure changing out the stock tread for better tread would quite down the road noise. And you'll get better traction. Win win.

Pull the trigger. More fun sooner is always good.

I say that, and I haven't driven a 2016. But you know, road noise is kinda subjective as you can see by all the different responses. I have a 2014 sport/touring and there is road noise. Is it objectionable ... no. And over time, you tune it out. AND, if you intend to track or autox, that road noise then becomes dynamic input for driving your hotrod NISMO at speed. You will appreciate the tactile and auditory sense you get from the car.

DUDE ... buy it ... have fun now!

IMO, the stock tires are fairly noisy. I don't have much to complain after ditching it for Hankook or Continental. For the money, I really like the Continental tires. This is my longest lasting set. Even though it's almost time to get new tires after over 2 years, it has plenty of grip.
