I guess I don't really care if it affects the resale of the car as I plan on having it until it dies or I need to sell it (hoping for the former than the latter).

Let us know what happened with the z when you know too. maybe some people here on the forums have some parts for sale and maybe can give you a good deal since this whole scenario happened to you phantom.
